Nadal eyes Monte Carlo for Consecutive 9th Time

Well Nadal is finally making headlines once again as Monte Carlo sets into motion.

Nadal, who is seeded 3rd after Djokovic and Andy Murray is playing his first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 clay-court tournament of the year and is also in the same half of the draw as No. 6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, No. 10 Nicolas Almagro and No. 13 Stanislas Wawrinka.

Nadal who has been away form the tennis world since his ouster form Wimbledon last year, has already started to make his presence felt. Rafael Nadal capped a stunning return to tennis with victory over  Juan Martin Del Potro in the final of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. Nadal beat Del Potro 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Now with Djokovic and Murray in the race too, Nadal seems right on course for his 9th time title win.

It is very likely that Nadal may meet Murray in the semis - if that happens, this would be their 19th encounter. Nadal leads their head-to-head series 13-5, including a victories over the Scot in the 2009 and 2011 Monte-Carlo semi-finals.
