Former F1 seven times champion Michael Schumacher in a coma after he had a fatal fall while skiing in Méribel resort in French Alps. Schumacher, 44, was skiing off-piste with son, 14.

Schumacher fights for his life as he suffered brain haemorrhage following skiing accident.

Schumacher, who beside a F1 champion was a skiing enthusiast too, had his hit head on a rock. Despite wearing a helmet, medical sources say F1 star was suffering from a brain haemorrhage.

Eyewitnesses who called the emergency services reported seeing blood coming from his helmet and marking the snow around.

The former F1 champion was airlifted to hospital in Grenoble, 80 miles west, where he was conscious. But, in a report filed at 7.20pm, doctors said his condition 'worsened.'

The German, who retired from sport in 2012, 'one of best drivers ever.'

Skydiver's 13,000ft 'unconcious-fall' to the ground after problem with his parachute

A California man who was unconscious as he plummeted to earth in a terrifying skydiving accident can finally see the crash landing he miraculously survived on footage captured by a GoPro video camera.

After two years of training at the Skydive Monterey Bay School and 29 successful jumps, Gerardo Flores was long beyond any fear at jumping out of a plane.

Then, only seconds into his 30th free-fall, he felt a jerk as his chute unexpectedly opened at 13,000 feet.

In the footage, Flores begins talking to the camera, saying he can see the drop zone thousands of feet below and deciding whether to cut his chute loose and rely on the backup.

All can remember now is looking down on the drop zone before he passed out.

He fell to earth 20 minutes later, still unconscious, miraculously crashing in the drop zone.

Four times world champion American skier Lindsey Vonn badly injured at world championships in Austria

Four times overall world champion and U.S. Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn was badly injured when she crashed on the slopes during world championship Austria.

The crash happened in the women's super-G on the opening day of the alpine skiing world championships on Tuesday afternoon.

Ms Vonn, 28, tumbled on the piste halfway down in a race which started three-and-a-half hours behind schedule due to poor visibility.

She lost balance on her right leg while landing after a jump. Her ski came off immediately, and Ms Vonn slid off course and hit a gate before coming to a halt.

Vonn hurt her right knee as she nearly somersaulted on the snow and was heard screaming in pain on the side of the course.  She received medical treatment on the slope for 12 minutes before being airlifted and taken to the hospital.

The injuries are expected to require surgery as well as a lengthy rehabilitation and could jeopardize Vonn's 2014 Olympic bid in Sochi, Russia.

Boxing legend 'Macho' is brain dead

The former super lightweight, lightweight and junior welterweight world champion and boxing legend Hector “Macho” Camacho is clinically brain dead, doctors said Thursday. However, his family are in dispute over the decision to turn off his life support.

Former world champion Camacho was left fighting for his life after being shot in the face in a drive-by shooting in his native Puerto Rico on Tuesday night.

But after a series of tests, medics say there is no hope for the 50-year-old. Dr Ernesto Torres – director of the hospital in the capital San Juan where the star is being kept alive – said: “We have done everything we could.

“We have to tell the people of Puerto Rico and the entire world that Macho Camacho has died, he is brain dead.”

Camacho’s father has already indicated that he wants the former boxer taken off life support and his organs donated, but one of his sisters is against the idea. Friend Ismael Leandry said Camacho’s mother is also wavering on taking her son off life support and would like more time with him.

British cyclist Bradley Wiggins sustains injuries in road accident

Bradley Wiggins, the first British to ever win the Tour de France earlier this year, sustained injuries as Vauxhall Astra driven by a women collided with the cyclist.

The 32 years old Olympic gold medal winner has his ribs damaged in the accident, though his conditions is not life threatening in the hospital.

The cyclist was riding his bike near his home in Lancashire at the time of the accident.

 A British driver has broken his back after a spectacular crash in the opening hours of the Le Mans 24 hour race.

Anthony Davidson's Toyota TS030 Hybrid flipped in mid-air before careering into heavily into a barrier yesterday.

His team revealed today the married 33-year-old, from Brackley, Northamptonshire, shattered two vertebrae.

Le Mans is the world's oldest active sports car endurance race, which has been held annually since 1923 near the town of Le Mans, France. It runs on the Circuit de la Sarthe, a circuit containing a mix of closed public roads and a specialist motor racing circuit normally used for testing.

F1: McLaren offer help to Williams after Spanish Fire

McLaren have offered Formula One rivals Williams their assistance after fire swept through the team's garage as they celebrated Pastor Maldonado's Spanish Grand Prix victory on Sunday (Monday, PHL time).

A McLaren spokesman said the Woking team were ready to lend a hand in replacing whatever damaged equipment Williams might need to go racing in Monaco next week.

The blaze erupted after team members had gathered in front of the Circuit de Catalunya garage for a victory photograph with their Venezuelan driver.

Team founder Frank Williams, who is in a wheelchair, was hurriedly pushed to safety while Maldonado carried a 12-year-old cousin - who had an injured foot - on his back along the smoke-filled pit lane.

US yacht race 'crash' kills three

At least three sailors have died during a US yacht race, weeks after another fatal accident off California.

US Coast Guard boats are looking for a fourth crew member from the yacht Aegean.

Race organisers the Newport Sailing Association said the wreckage indicated the yacht collided with a ship much larger than the 37-foot vessel.

On Thursday the Coast Guard suspended yacht racing around San Francisco after a fatal accident earlier this month.

England Cricketers escape injury in accident in Dubai

Four members of the England ODI squad in the United Arab Emirates were fortunate to escape injury when the taxi in which they were traveling was involved in an incident.

Stuart Broad, Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen and Monty Panesar were traveling at around 100kph when the taxi's bonnet suddenly flew up and into the car's windscreen, obscuring the driver's vision. 

The driver was able to stop the car safely, however and the players were able to take a full part in training on Saturday evening.
