Olympics Medal Table: Russia Moving Up


On 7th August today, the table position of the Olympic medals is as under. While China and USA continue to occupy the 1st and second position with GB at third, watch the significant move upward of the Russian Federation which had been dilly dallying on 9th/10th positions has now advanced to no. 6th position with seven golds, pushing down Italy to no.7th position.

Kuwait also joined the medal table yesterday as it skeet shooter bagged a bronze, beating the British skeet shooter. Uzbekistan continues to be the last country on the medals tables.

Pakistan down India 2-0 in Asian Squash

Pakistan dismantles Indian squash team, men's event, 2-0 in the summit clash in the 16th Asian Team Squash Championship, in Kuwait on Saturday.


Pakistan team, which was already missing its top seed, Amir Atlas Khan, took on ‘offence as the best defence’ as a strategy to get past its opponents.



India's national champion Saurav Ghosal squandered a 2-0 advantage and went down in five games to Pakistan's number one Farhan Mehboob in the first singles.
The script did not change in the second singles as Siddharth Suchde lost to Farhan Zaman in five games.
The India's men's team equalled its silver-winning performance in the team championship in the inaugural edition of the tournament held in 1981 in Karachi.
