Results ATP World Tour Finals - Day 2: Federer makes yet another record


Two matches were played on the second day of the ATP World Tour Finals at London's O2 Arena Tuesday - but more than the normal outcome of the matches, it was the day of making history by none other than the Swiss Roger Federer.


Beating world no.9 Serbian Janko Tipsarevic 6-3, 6-1 in the Group B match at London's O2 Arena on Tuesday, Swiss Roger Federer set into motion his bid for a seventh ATP Tour Finals title.

The win Tuesday was Federer's 40th win in his 11 appearances at the World Tour Finals - breaking the previous record of 39 wins held by legendary Ivan Lendl.

The second match of Group B saw a resilient Juan Martin Del Potro who having lost the first set to David Ferrer 3-6, rebounding and winning the second set 6-3. However, he then lost control over his win and went on to lose the match when he gave in the third set 4-6 to Ferrer.

ATP World Tour Finals - Results Day 1


Two matches were played on the first day of the ATP World Tour Finals at London's O2 Arena and ended with much expected results.

Both matches were played in the Group A of the championship between Djokovic-Tsonga and Murray-Berdych.

In the first match of the day, after losing the first set 3-6, the US Open chmapion and world no.3 British andy Murray beat Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-4.

The second match was played between the world no.2 French Open champion Novak Djokovic from Serbia and 7th ranked French Jo-Wilfred Tsonga. The Serbian won the match despite tough resistance by the French in the first set 7-6(4) 6-3.

The wins on Day-1 give two points each to Djokovic and Murray.

On Day-2, Federer - Tipsarevic will play their Group B in the men's singles category. 

In the men's double double category, recentl crowned Indian duo at Paris Bhupathi / Bopanna will play Marray / Nielsen, and the ATP PAris runners up Pakistan-Dutch duo Qureshi / Rojer will play against Paes / Stepanek Tuesday evening.

ATP World Tour Finals 2012 | London 5-12 November


As the Paris Masters comes to an end with the men's single final between David Ferrer and Janowicz to be played shortly, all eyes will shift to London for the years last important tennis tournament, the AP World our Finals 2012. The tournament will be played at the O2 Arena in London, from 5 to 12 November 2012.


The indoor season-sending championship is the 42nd edition of its kind, in which eight best tennis players will contest in the men's single title category. These eight players divided into two groups will play matches based on the Round Robin concept and the two players with results from each group will participate in the semi finals.

The championship is similar to the WTA World Championship recently played at Istanbul in which top eight ranked female tennis players participated. American Serena Williams won the championship.

The players who qualified for this years championship include:
  • Roger Federer
  • Novak Djokovic
  • Rafael Nadal
  • Andy Murray
  • David Ferrer
  • Tomáš Berdych
  • Juan Martin del Potro
  • Jo-Wilfred Tsonga
Since Rafael Nadal is resting his knees and not participating, Janko Tipsarević  will play in the championship.

The first two matches on the opening day are between Murray - Berdych and Djokovic - Tsonga.
