Bayern Munchen humiliate Barcelona with 4-0 win

What a match it was last night at Allianz Arena, Munich and those who witnessed it would remember for a long time.

Many thought Barcelona will prove to be a stubborn opponent to Bayern when the two met last night of their Champion League semi final match of the first leg. But it turned out to be a simple one sided game with Bayern completely dominating the match for complete two halves.

Mueller struck right in the 25th minute to open the account for the Germans. But most of the activity came in the second half, when just four minutes after the second half began Gomez added another goal to lead the match 2-0.

The quest for more goals for the Germans never died as a third goal came in 73rd minute by Robben. And finally to seal the fate of the Barca, Mueller struck for the second time just eight minutes before the final whistle blew and cemented the German victory over Barca 4-0.

The ruthless humiliation of Barcelona by Bayern shows the growing German power in European football as it was the worst Barca defeat in Europe since they were beaten by the same scoreline by Dynamo Kiev in 1997, and no team has lost the first leg of a European Cup tie by four or more goals and progressed to the next round.

Barcelona vs Bayern: UEFA Champions League | Watch Live Free Streaming - 23 April 2013

Barcelona meets Bayern Tuesday evening at Allianz Arena for the first semifinal game of UEFA championship.

Bayern Munich is listed as slight favorite for today's match. However, betting houses throughout the world have installed FC Barcelona as favorite to advance to the UEFA Champions League final.

Those who remember the two in the 2008-09 quarterfinals, would recall that so blown away were Bayern by Barca's rapid passing game that it moved Bayern's Mark van Bommel to exclaim that if they played like this, it would be near-impossible for anyone to beat Barcelona.

However, this time the story looks slightly different. Bayern appear more ready and comfortable in their skin when facing their ball-hogging rivals. Of course, it helps that a certain uncertainty seems to hover over Barcelona's outings these days, but under Jupp Heynckes Bayern are their own men.

So let us find which side is really hot favourite today as both have tall claims and fans too are in over-hype state to see their teams getting ready for the big encounter.

The match is scheduled for Tuesday, 23 April at 18:45 GMT.

If you are one of the fans located at different destination and miss the chance to visit the stadium to watch your favorite team, You can now watch the match live on your laptop or desktop computer, FREE, provided you have an internet connection, from the links given below:

UEFA Champions League: Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid - Watch Live Online

The UEFA Champions League is getting exciting as it enters in the first-leg semifinals stage. And Tuesday night brings two major teams facing each other: Bayen Munich vs Real Madrid.

although both teams have their own dynamic and have a large fan bank, but there is something other than the name of the teams that is of main interest - it is about Jose  Mourinho , Real Madrid's coach, who may go down in the history as the first manager to win the UEFA Champions League with three different teams. Well, we shall see if history is made or not, but Mourinho typical military style haircut reveals that he is ready for war.

Now here are some statistics that may give a fair idea as to which team is favourite and which is not:
The first one is quite disappointing - Real Madrid has never won away to Bayern Munich, losing in eight of nine trips to Germany.
But at the same time, Real Madrid has won the most games in this season's Champions League; nine out of 10 matches played.
Real's Cristiano Ronaldo is third in Champions League scoring, with 8 goals to his name.
Madrid are four points ahead of defending champions Barcelona in the league, Saturday's 3-1 win at home over Sporting Gijon maintaining the capital side's advantage before Saturday's crucial 'clasico' in Barcelona.
As for the Germans, they have won 13 of their last 14 games in Munich, where Real have never won in nine attempts.
But surprisingly, Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has ironically labelled his side "underdogs" ahead of the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena - interesting, won't you say that!!

Probable Bayern Munich Lineup (4-2-3-1): Manuel Neuer; David Alaba, Holger Badstuber, Jerome Boateng, Phillip Lahm; Luiz Gustavo, Bastian Schweinsteiger; Franck Ribery, Thomas Müller, Arjen Robben; Mario Gomez

Probable Real Madrid Lineup (4-2-3-1): Iker Casillas; Marcelo, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Arbeloa; Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira; Cristiano Ronaldo, Mesut Özil, Angel di Maria; Karim Benzema

The match, Tuesday night April the 17th, is scheduled at 2 p.m. ET / 18:45 GMT

Venue: Allianz Arena, Munich, Germany

Bayern Munchen - Olympique Marseille Live Stream online free

While an important match between FC Barcelona and AC Milan get into rolling, another match at the same time is scheduled between Bayern Munich v Marseille.

As per Yahoo Sport:

Six Bayern Munich stars - Toni Kroos, Philipp Lahm, Thomas Mueller, Jerome Boateng, David Alaba and Luiz Gustavo - are all a booking away from suspension but are still likely to play. There are no major worries although captain Bastian Schweinsteiger is suspended.

Marseille’s preparations have not been helped by repeated delays on their flight to Munich due to strike action by air traffic controllers. Keeper Steve Mandanda is back after suspension but centre back Souleymane Diawara, who was banned in the first leg, is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Holding midfielder Alou Diarra is also suspended.
With these odds the two get into motion this evening - and many speculate that Olympique Marseille will be seen in their last European Champions League game this season against the Bayern Munich. Why so? This quarterfinal tie looks to be over with Munich coming away with a 2-0 win in the first leg in France last week. and moreover, Marseille are now winless in nine consecutive games in all competitions.

And needless to mention that Bayern Munich have won 11 of their last 12 home games in the Champions League.

So with these odds, watch the match between Bayern Munchen - Olympique Marseille this evening that is scheduled to commence at 18:45 GMT.
