Arsenal - Fulham: Barclays Premier League | Watch Free Live Streaming - 18 January 2014

In the series of Premier League football matches, Arsenal welcome Fulham to the Emirates Stadium Saturday afternoon today.

When both the teams meet at Emirates Stadium, the Gunners will like to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League table. The Gunners sit just a point above Manchester City at the summit and will hope to stay there with victory over Rene Meulensteen's struggling side.

Fulham have won three of their last six games but heavy defeats to Hull and Sunderland in that time ensure that they remain embroiled in the relegation dogfight.

Arsenal have kept seven clean sheets in their last eight games in all competitions at the Emirates Stadium, conceding just one goal in the other match during this run.

Although 16th placed Fulham have allowed 133 shots on target this season, more than any other club in the Premier League, the fact is that Fulham have never won away at Arsenal in any competition, losing 22 of the 27 visits to the Gunners. They have, however, drawn the last two.

So it is going to be interesting watching the Gunners taking on Fulham today in their own stadium to continue to maintain their no.1 position on the points table.

The English Barclays Premier League match is scheduled to be played between Arsenal - Fulham on Sunday, 18 January 2014, 2013, kick-off 15:00 GMT at Emirates Stadium.

Pakistan born Shahid Khan buys Fulham

Fulham finally changes hands from 84 years old Egyptian Mohamed Al Fayed to Pakistan born Shahid Khan, owner of NFL side Jacksonville Jaguars, which he bought in 2011.

Khan, 62, a billionaire car-parts entrepreneur, is the sixth American owner of a Premier League club.

Fulham remained with Fayed for sixteen years and under his patronage Fulham rose from the third tier to the top flight and into Europe.

"It has been a pleasure and privilege to be chairman of Fulham football club for 16 memorable years," said a parting Fayed.
“My time of serving as the custodian of Fulham Football Club would one day come to an end, and I feel that time has now arrived,” Mohamed Al Fayed said. “The time is right because I have found a very good man in Shahid Khan to accept the responsibility and privilege that I have enjoyed at Fulham since 1997. Fulham will be in very good hands with Shahid, whose success in business and passion for sport is very evident. I ask everyone who loves Fulham and our Craven Cottage home to welcome Shahid as he begins his journey as the next guardian of Fulham Football Club.”

The number 16 is common to both Fayed and Shahid Khan: Fayed ran Fulham for 16 years, and Shahid Khan moved from Pakistan to USA at the age of 16.

"My priority is to ensure the club and Craven Cottage each have a viable and sustainable Premier League future that fans of present and future generations can be proud of," said Mr Khan.

Man United win against Fulham - but after a fierce resistance by the Cottagers

When the red Devils went into Craven Cottage to play their Premier League match Saturday evening yesterday against Fulham, they were very confident and itching for tons of goals.

But the Fulham defence proved to be so formidable that the all hopes of the Devils dashed till as late as 79th minute when a lone goal from Rooney gave them an edge over the Cottagers.

Rooney surged forward after 78 minutes to meet a Jonny Evans long ball and send a cool finish into the far corner for his 10th goal in as many games.

In a frantic finale, Fulham were denied an equaliser when United striker Robin van Persie cleared a Philippe Senderos header off the line.

The 1-0 win over the Cottagers give the Red Devils a 10 points lead in the points table who now have amassed 65 points and continue to sit on top of the points table.

Manchester United gear up to take on Fulham at Old Trafford Saturday today.

The highlight of the match would be Robin van Persie, who is likely to make his first start for Manchester United in the clash with Fulham.

It may be added that United went down 1-0 -  first time in eight years that the Red Devils had lost their opening league fixture of the season,  at Goodison Park on Monday night thanks to Marouane Fellaini’s second-half header.

Dempsey Helps Fulham to Draw With Chelsea

[ via The New York Times ] 27 Dec

The American Clint Dempsey’s goal for Fulham sent Chelsea to a third consecutive 1-1 draw Monday and further damaged its title hopes in the Premier League in England. It was Dempsey’s ninth goal of the season.

Fulham scored only its fifth away goal this season. Bryan Ruiz eluded Chelsea’s Ashley Cole and crossed to Dempsey, who sent the ball past goalkeeper Petr Cech in the 57th minute. Chelsea opened the scoring within two minutes of the second half on a goal by Juan Mata, who left-footed it home from the edge of the penalty area.
Chelsea is in fourth place, 2 points ahead of Arsenal and 11 points behind the leaders, the Manchester rivals City and United.
