Having won the first T20I, the hosts New Zealand cricket team take on the West Indians in the second T20I a series win 2-0 edge over the West Indians at Westpac Stadium, Wellington Wednesday morning today.

In the meanwhile West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo is expecting his team to deliver under pressure as they try to level the two-match T20I.

West Indies are without Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels, Kieron Pollard and Darren Sammy - that means a lot of batting is missing. New Zealand vs West Indies: 1st Test Match | Watch Free Live Streaming - 3-7 December 2013

New Zealand hosts West Indies to play their first test match, starting 3 December till 7th December at University Oval, Dunedin.

The last time New Zealand were involved in their home tour, they narrowly missed out on taking the series against formidable England. This time around, however, the Kiwis will start as the favourites against a West Indies side still trying to sort out the difference between playing in the limited-overs to the Tests.

Right from outset, Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the opening Test. Kane has a thumb injury, suffered in the series in Bangladesh.

It means that Redmond will add to his seven Test caps, the previous of which came against Australia at Adelaide in 2008.

In the opposite camp, Chris Gayle is missing, giving Kirk Edwards a chance to impress at the top along with Kieran Powell, who played a couple of decent innings in India.

As for the weather, it is predicted to be mild and partly cloudy conditions for the bulk of the match, with rain unlikely to cause interruptions until the final day on Saturday.

Squads:
New Zealand: BB McCullum*, Corey J Anderson, TA Boult, DAJ Bracewell, PG Fulton, AJ Redmond, HD Rutherford, IS Sodhi, TG Southee, LRPL Taylor, N Wagner, BJ Watling†, KS Williamson

West Indies: DJG Sammy*, D Ramdin†, TL Best, KC Brathwaite, DM Bravo, S Chanderpaul, SS Cottrell, N Deonarine, KA Edwards, ST Gabriel, SP Narine, V Permaul, KOA Powell, MN Samuels, S Shillingford, CAK Walton†

Umpires NJ Llong and PR Reiffel

Who leads and dominates? Well, Traditionally, teams have struggled with the bat in the first innings on rather green wickets, before the pitch flattens out on the third and fourth days to provide a better batting surface.

So let us watch the first test which is scheduled From 3-7 December 2013 at University Oval, Dunedin at 10:30 local time (21:30 GMT)

Pakistan wins 2nd ODI against West Indies by 11 Runs - and wins series 2-0

Pakistan's players rejoice wicket by Sohail Tanvir

It was a great day for Pakistan at  Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent when it beat the hosts West Indies by 11 runs in the second T20I and the last match before the visitors return home having won both the ODI and T20I series with extraordinary performance.

The victory in the second T20I brings Pakistan No. 2 - behind Sri Lanka - in the ICC rankings for T20I teams.

The outstanding perofrmance was mainly attributed to Pakistan's bowlers who restricted the hosts in all matches in achieving given targets.

Although in the second at Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent, Pakistan which won the toss and elected to bat was restricted to mere 135 for seven in 20 overs by the West Indian bowlers, specially Narine (3/26) and Badree (2/16), the hosts found it difficult to achieve the target in the face of superb bowling by the visitors.

Saeed Ajmal, Sohail Tanvir and débutante Zulfiquar Babar each bagged 2 wickets and made the hosts pack for mere 129/9 - 11 runs short of the target.

Umer Akmal was declared player of the match for 46 not out

Umar Akmal (Pakistan) was declared as the player of the match, while Zulfiqar Babar (Pakistan) was declared the player of the series.

While triumphant Pakistan return home, for West Indies, it was a disappointing home season. They beat Zimbabwe a few months ago, but did not make the tri-series final (India and Sri Lanka did) and then suffered two series defeats against Pakistan.

West Indies vs Pakistan - 2nd T20I | Watch Free Live Streaming Online - 28 July

The first T20I that Pakistan and West Indies played at was a thriller and record making. Pakistan won the match by 2 wickets with a powerful sixer on the last ball by Zulfiqar Babar at the age of 34 who made his T20I début Saturday at Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent.

It was also a day for Shahid Afridi to rejoice as he claimed his 400th sixes by hitting two sixes. He scored 46 off 37 balls with four 4s and two sixes.

Captain Hafeez opted to open the bowling and the decision proved to be the right one, as he picked up two wickets in his first two overs of Charles and Gayle. Zulfiqar Babar picked up the best bowling figures for Pakistan 3/23 and then went on to hit a six off the final ball of the innings to take Pakistan home with the bat. Umar Amin a débutante too, scored impressive 47(34) that provided some impetus after the top order collapse.

Pakistan wins 5th ODI with hairline finish

Pakistan's captain Misbah was declared both Player of the match and the series

It was a good day for Pakistan at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia as they won the 5th ODI of the five ODI series with four wickets in hand and ONE BALL remaining.

Winning the toss, Pakistan elected to field and put the hosts to bat. The West Indians played extremely well and gve a target of 243 to win the fifth ODI and the series or otherwise equalise the series 2-2. Charles (43), Samuels (45)  and DJ Bravo (48) played almost half centuries and reached a score of 242/7 in fifty overs.

Junaid Khan was the most successful bowler who bagged 3/48, followed by two wickets each by Irfan and Ajmal.

Coming to bat, Ahmed Shehzad was the one who set the pace for victory with his impressive 64. Captain Misbah was once again the man to ensure a victory for his team with his 63. Umar Akmal added another 37 to take Pakistan near the victory. At the end it was Shahid Afridiand Saeed Ajmal on the crease who won the hairline victory for Pakistan with one ball remaining.

Best was the best from the hosts side to bag thrre wickets for 48 - which included wickets of Shehzad, Haris Sohail and Umer Akmal.

Pakistan's captain Misbah was declared Player of the Match and the Series as well for his consistent and impressive batting.

After the match, Misbah was much satisfied: "Pretty satisfying," says Misbah-ul-Haq, who is also the Man of the Match and Series. "A win is always good, especially after the losses in South Africa series and Champions Trophy. I knew this pitch was really good to bat on, and if we kept batting till the end, nothing was impossible. The bowling has obviously been our strength. Everybody bowled really well, which was the key in this win. Always tough to bowl first, especially in pressure games like this, but everybody was really positive, that we were going to chase well."

West Indies too played a good innings: "Today we lost," says Dwayne Bravo, "but the guys fought. You have to give credit to them. Must congratulate Pakistan, and well done to my boys too. The matches could have gone either way. Even today a few key decisions went against us. We can't fault the effort of the players. The series could have gone our way if some key decisions had gone our way. If you bowl well, 242 was going to be a challenging total. I liked how we believed right until the end. Those key decisions at crucial times cost us. A learning process to me. A new role for me. With the talent we have, I enjoy leading the team. We can't turn things around overnight, but with the talent we have we can become a very dangerous team."

Pakistan vs West Indies: 5th ODI | Watch Live Free Streaming - 24 July 2013

Having won the five ODI series 2-1, Pakistan plays the fifth ODI for consolidating its victory over the hosts West Indies Wednesday today at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia or would it be the hosts to equalise the series 2-2?

West Indies Chris Gayle iis playing his worst series and has not impressed either the visitors or the fans and the crowds. Likewise Hafeez from Pakistan side, who usually bats well is not coming up to the mark. In fact it is Misbah alone saving matches or even winning these for Pakistan.

The likely opposing squads are as under:

West Indies squad
DJ Bravo*, TL Best, DM Bravo, J Charles†, CH Gayle, JO Holder, SP Narine, KA Pollard, KAJ Roach, DJG Sammy, MN Samuels, LMP Simmons, DS Smith

Misbah-ul-Haq*, Abdur Rehman, Ahmed Shehzad, Asad Ali, Asad Shafiq, Haris Sohail, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Rizwan†, Nasir Jamshed, Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi, Umar Akmal†, Umar Amin, Wahab Riaz

After the hair raising finish of 3rd ODI that ended in a tie, the fourth and decisive ODI between the visiting Pakistan cricket team and the hosts West Indies begin at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia Sunday today.

Pakistan batting first gave a target of 230 to the hosts - but at the very end, West Indies at best could reach 229, one short of victory and ending the third ODI in a tie. it may be added that Pakistan and West Indies have been involved in three tied one-dayers, the first two coming in Lahore and third at Guyana on Friday.

Watch Live West Indies v Pakistan at Gros Islet: 3rd ODI | Free Live Streaming - 19 July

After a 1-1 5-ODI series equal, the visiting Pakistan team meet hosts West Indies at Gros Islet for their third encounter Friday today.

The second ODI saw the hosts rebounding from a humiliating defeat to a comfortable victory, thanks to the Bravo brothers' superb batting and dismal performance of Pakistani bowlers who aided the hosts with 38 extras to win the match.

In fact, unlike previous matches, the Pakistani batsmen played better than their reputation of crumblings like pack of cards, but it was the bowlers whose sloppy and loose bowling add devastating 38 extras - otherwise even Bravo brothers could not have saved the second ODI.

The probable teams line up for today's match are as under:

Pakistan: 1 Nasir Jamshed, 2 Ahmed Shehzad, 3 Mohammad Hafeez, 4 Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), 5 Asad Shafiq, 6 Umar Akmal (wk), 7 Shahid Afridi, 8 Wahab Riaz, 9 Asad Ali/Junaid Khan, 10 Saeed Ajmal, 11 Mohammad Irfan

West Indies: 1 Chris Gayle, 2 Johnson Charles (wk), 3 Darren Bravo, 4 Lendl Simmons, 5 Marlon Samuels, 6 Dwayne Bravo (capt), 7 Kieron Pollard, 8 Darren Sammy, 9 Kemar Roach, 10 Sunil Narine, 11 Jason Holder

What happens today is yet to be seen but Pakistan have an unbeaten record in ODIs at St Lucia, beating West Indies on all four occasions. But for today, Pakistani bowlers must learn from their mistakes and play responsibly and not add extras in tons. And their batsmen should also be cautious while playing Narine.

The boom boom Afridi needs just three more sixes today for his 400 international sixes - would he do it?

Let us watch the match live from Gros Islet at July 19, 2013 (09:00 local | 13:00 GMT | 18:00 PST)

West Indies Take Revenge of First ODI Humiiliation: Beat Pakistan in 2nd ODI by 37 Runs

DM Bravo (left) and Jamshed (right): Top scorers of the match

The humiliation at the hands of visiting Pakistan cricket team in the first ODI  at Providence Stadium, Guyana was enough for the hosts West Indians, as the rebounded and beat Pakistan in the second ODI by 37 runs at the same venue yesterday.

In fact Pakistan did the same mistake of winning the toss and electing to field as did the West Indians in the first ODI and this cost them dearly.

But this time, more than batsmen, it was the sloppy Pakistani bowlers who gave away 38 ( 21 wides ) extra runs to the West Indians to have an upper edge over them.

Pakistani's bowlers this time failed to curtail the hosts and let them score 232 for eight in 50 overs. Gayle however was dismantled for one by Irfan - but then others stood to ground and added handsomely - Charles (31), DM Braveo (54), LMP Brave (43).  Saeed Ajmal took 2/45 and Afridi2/19.

Coming to bat, Pakistan did start comfortably but the top order batsmen except for Jamshed (54) and Akmal (50) failed to leave a mark. Afridi who roared in the first ODI both as batsman and bowler was home for five. And the entire team was back to pavilion for 195. Narine was the most successful bowler for his 4/29, who sent back Hafeez, Afridi, Saeed Ajmal and Riaz.

SP Narine (West Indies) was declared player of the match for his superb 4/29.

The 3rd ODI between West Indies v Pakistan will be played on 19th July at Gros Islet.

Pakistan which gave a target of 224 to the hosts, sent them packing for mere 98 in 41 overs.

So that was the first ODI - would Pakistan team show a repeat performance today sine the venue is the same?

Pakistan's Afridi thrashes West Indians in the first ODI Showdown

Pakistan's flamboyant all-rounder stunned the hosts in the first showdown between the visiting Pakistan cricket team and the West Indies at Providence Stadium, Guyana by his superb batting and bowling to win the first ODI for Pakistan.

West Indies, winning the toss, invited Pakistan to bat. And as usual the entire top order line of Pakistan crumbled against the West Indian bowlers as Nasir (6), Shehzad (5), Hafeez (1) and Asad (0) returned to pavilion with their pathetic batting score. Holder was the man responsible for their dismal who took four wickets for just 13 runs.

It was Misbah who stood on the crease adding valuable 52. But then came Boom Boom Afridi, who was sacked for the ICC world cup, and scored an impressive 76 off 55 balls and helped Pakistan a comfortable target of 224.

But worst was yet to come. When the hosts came in to bat, Afridi struck with his tremendous bowling and dismantled seven West Indians for mere 12 runs. Although the first three wickets were taken by Misbah and Irfan, with Gayle(1 - run out Misbah), Charles (0) and Bravo (5) by Irfan, it was Afridi who took the toll of the West Indians and sent them packing one after the other and in just 41 overs, the entire host team was out for shameful 98 score.

Obviously, Shahid Afridi (Pakistan) was the unanimous choice for the Player of the match award for his immense batting and his mercurial best-ever ODI bowling figures by a Pakistani, and the second best overall.

Pakistan plays second of the five ODIs at the same venue on 16th July. The 5-ODI series will be followed by two T20Is.

South Africa - West Indies: ICC Champions Trophy - 9th Match | Watch Live Free Streaming - 14 June

The 9th match of the ICC Champions Trophy is being played between South Africa and West Indies of Group B at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff Friday morning today.

Today's match is important for both teams as the winner of the Group B match in Cardiff will secure a place in the semi-finals alongside India.

"I think the South Africans will feel the pressure - They have a tag of being chokers that do not do well in big tournaments, so that would be added pressure on them," said Bravo. "They know if they lose, they are going back home.

South Africa Test captain Graeme Smith, who is not part of the one-day squad because of an ankle injury, responded to Bravo's comments by writing on Twitter:  "Never mind pressure on Proteas, Dwayne Bravo just put it all on himself! Not the smartest move from him I reckon."

Captain AB de Villiers looks set to be able to call of Dale Steyn for the first time in the tournament, after the pace bowler missed the opening defeat by India and the victory over Pakistan with a side strain.

India vs West Indies: ICC Champions Trophy - 6th Match | Watch Live Free Streaming - 11 June

India take on West Indies in the sixth game of the International Council (ICC) Champions Trophy 2013 at Kennington Oval, London on Tuesday. They have won their respective tournament openers in Group B.

India beat South Africa by 26 runs in the tournament opening game. West Indies beat Pakistan by two wickets in a low scoring match in their previous game.

It may be intresting for many to know that India and West Indies have never played against each other in England in 30 years.

When India last played West Indies in an ODI in England, ODI cricket and West Indies were the kings. India upset West Indies that afternoon, became the new kings of ODI cricket, and paved the way for a whole new commercial explosion in the format, reports cricinfo.

Thirty years later, as they face off in England again, India are the world champions and the No. 1 ODI side, but the format itself is fighting for relevance, at least in popular discourse.

The likely opposing teams for the match are:
India squad
MS Dhoni*†, R Ashwin, S Dhawan, RA Jadeja, KD Karthik†, V Kohli, B Kumar, A Mishra, IK Pathan, SK Raina, I Sharma, RG Sharma, M Vijay, R Vinay Kumar, UT Yadav

West Indies squad
DJ Bravo*, D Ramdin†, TL Best, DM Bravo, J Charles, CH Gayle, JO Holder, SP Narine, KA Pollard, R Rampaul, KAJ Roach, DJG Sammy, MN Samuels, RR Sarwan, DS Smith

Umpires Aleem Dar and AL Hill

Forecast at the Oval is very different to the previous games with cloud cover and 30% chance of rain, the conditions are going to be typical of early summer in England. if utilized well swinging although the use of the crappy Kookaburra ball does negate this a tad.

The match is scheduled on Tuesday, 11 June (09:30 GMT) | at Kennington Oval, London.

Did West Indies wicket keeper Denesh Ramdin cheat a catch in match against Pakistan?

West Indian wicket keeper's catch of Pakistan's skipper Misbah has become controversial and ICC is of the opinion that the catch off Pakistan skipper Misbah was not clean, reports Gulf News.

Ramdin claimed the catch of Pakistan skipper Misbah Ul Haq who bottom edged a chest high delivery off Kemar Roach in the ninth over of the match. The ball carried to Ramdin who appeared to take it cleanly on first attempt but allowed the ball to spell out of his glove onto the grass.

He then went and joined his teammates in the celebratory huddle when the square leg umpire felt that they catch may not have been clean. The replays confirmed it and ICC has charged Ramdin with a Level 2 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct whereby he has acted contrary to the spirit of the game.

Ramdin has pleaded not guilty to the offence, and a hearing will take place in London on Monday. The range of penalties for all first Level 2 breaches are the imposition of a fine of between 50-100% of a player’s match fee and/or a suspension of up to two ODI matches.

West Indies beat Pakistan by 2 wickets in ICC Champion Trophy second ODI at Oval

Chris Gayle bowled by Saeed Ajmal for 39 [Photo: Cricinfo]
As many expected, the West Indies prevailed upon a rather inexperienced Pakistan cricket squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2013 when both teams met at Oval Friday today for their first ODI of Group B.

Although West Indies won the toss, but seeing the pitch conditions that were likely to assist the bolwers, the W indies decided to field - which looked like a good decision.

Coming to bat, Pakistan showed a hopeless performance as most of its players went back for ducks or paltry score of less than ten. It was only  Jamshed and Misbah (captain) who showed a superb game and scored 50 and 96 respectively.

Roach and Narine were the most successful bowlers who dismantled three for 28 and three for 34 respectively.

Coming to bat to chase a target of 171, Gayle scored 39 before being bowled by Saeed Ajmal. Samuels and Pollard scored 30 each and the West Indians were able to reach the target and scored 172 with 56 alls remaining and two wickets in hand.

Mighty Irfan was the most successful bowler who took 3 for 32, followed by two wickets each by Saeed Ajmal and Wahab Riaz.

So once again batsmen failed the bowlers of Pakistan and let go many chances to score more and carry the day. This seem to continue to go on during the remaining matches and Pakistan has started with a lose start - a posture form which they must recover as fast as they can - lest the tournament slips out of their hands.
