Seeded fifth, the Indian duo defeated Paul Hanley and Jonathan Marray 7-5, 6-3 in the semis, while seventh seeded Aisam-Roger duo beat Marin Cilic and Marcelo Melo 0-6 6-4 11-9 in their semifinal clash.

So this is going to be an interesting match as both Aisam ul Haq Qureshi and Rohan Bopanna know each other well, their game strengths and weaknesses. It is yet to be seen who outplays who.

Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer reach Paris Masters Final

Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer gave their partnership yet another boost when they marched into the final of the Paris Tennis Masters series here on Saturday.

Aisam, the Pakistani tennis ace, and his Dutch partner Rojer knocked out Marin Cilic and Marcelo Melo in their doubles semi-final match of the tournament to seal their place in the title clash.

Aisam and Rojer grabbed a 6-0, 4-6, 9-11 victory in a match lasting one hour and 23 minutes.

Aisam will now face the his former doubles partner Rohan Bopanna in the final after the Indian fifth seed and his partner Mahesh Bhupatti beat the Polish combination of Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski 6-7 (5) 6-3 10-4.

Aisam-Rojer now have a 31-21 match record this season, highlighted by two ATP World Tour titles. They have already sealed their place in ATP World Tour Finals.

69th ranked Jerzy Janowicz, an emerging tennis player from Poland, beat G Simon 6-4, 7-5 to play his very first final of the Paris Masters against Ferrer.

This is the first time Ferrer is playing against Janowicz and predicitng the match result is really difficult as this tournament has had many setbacks for top seeded players and each time a low ranking player won.

Could today's final between 5th and 69th ranked players be another repetition? Remember it was Janowicz who knocked out US Open champion and Olympic gold medalist British Andy Murray to move on to the finals of Paris Masters!!

Fourth-seeded world no. 5 David Ferrer of Spain plays the ATP Paris semifinal match against 121st ranked French Micheal Llodra Saturday today.

Ferrer moved closer to his first Masters title after beating French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-2, 7-5. 

Michael Llodra beat American Sam Querrey 7-6 (4), 6-3 to reach the semis.

Ferrer has played against Llodra only twice in his career at Miami (2010) and Shanghai (2010) and won both the times. But it has been seen that past stats do not matter much as we have seen many upsets this year in the ongoing Paris Masters as high profile players like Murray and Djokovic were knocked out by low seeded players in the very early rounds of the tournament.

David Ferrer beat M. Granollers 6-1 6-3 in the third round Thursday to meet Tsonga in the quarters today.

The home crowd favourite Tsonga defeated 11th seed Nicolas Almagro 7-6(4), 7-6(3) on Thursday to reach the quarter-finals. Tsonga's victory also qualifies him for the season-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, to be played at the O2 in London from 5-12 November, where he will join will join Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, David Ferrer, Tomas Berdych,  Janko Tipsarevic and Juan Martin del Potro.

Juan Martin del Potro, the Argentinian world no.8 takes on wild card entry 121st ranked French Micheal Llodra in the third round of the Paris Masters Thursday afternoon today.

Del Potro is on to his 13th straight win, if he can manage that today, since Llodra will have the backing of the home crowd - but he may not match the brilliance of Del Potro.

This will be the fourth time that Del Potro is facing the Frenchman since they first played at French Open in 2009- needless to mention that Del Potro won all four matches. They last met at Rome this year, when Llodra upset Del Potro by winning the second set,  a match which was otherwise won by Del Potro 7-5, 3-6 and 6-4.

Although Llodra has lost three of his ten matches, he prevailed upon 11th ranked American John Inser in the second round of Paris Masters - something that shows his present form and may be a warning for Potro not to take him easy.

Aisam ul Haq Qureshi of Pakistan, who paired with his Indian partner Rohan Bopanna won the men's double event of the Paris Masters last year, now eyes the same trophy paired with his new Dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer.

The seventh seed Pakistan-Dutch pair play their match against the top French duo Feliciano Lopez and Nenad Zimonjic who beat Michael Llodra and Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 in the first round of the BNP Paribas Masters on Tuesday in Paris.

Aisam ul Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer won their last men's double final at Halle, Germany in June this year, beating the Philistine/US pair Treat Conard and Scott Lipsky 6-3, 6-4. They are also looking to claim one of the final two berths to the season finale in London.

The match between the Pakistan-Dutch and the French duo is scheduled for Thursday, 1 November 2012 at 11:00 GMT.

While world no.2 Novak Djokovic had a bad day on his first day at the Paris Masters when he was ousted by 23rd ranked American Sam Querrey and was knocked out of the tournament, world no.3 Andy Murray had a smooth sailing as he moves to third round to play his match against 69th ranked Polish Jerzy Janowicz Thursday today.

Andy Murray beat French Paul-Henri Mathieu 7-5 6-3 in the second round of Paris Masters Wednesday evening. Although, Murray had not played a competitive match since losing to Novak Djokovic in  Shanghai Masters and seem to have rested well, he looked rusty in his match against Mathieu Wednesday despite  straight-sets success.

Let us see how he fares against Janowicz whom he has played only once at Davis Cup match in 2009 and won 6-3, 6-4, 6-3.

BNP Paribas Paris Masters Tennis Tournament

The ATP Paris or the Paris Masters tennis tournament gets underway with effect from 29 October at Paris, France with the commencement of the first round of the tournament. The tournament will continue till Sunday 4 November, when it will culminated with the men's single final event.

The tournament, presently played under the sponsorship of BNP Paribas, is an ATP 1000 indoor tennis tournament, which is the last major tennis tournament of the calendar year. The event which was once known as the Paris Open, is now known as the BNP Paribas Masters due to sponsorship by BNP Paribas.

The tournament was first held in 1968 as part of Grand Prix Championship Series and Milan Holeček from the erstwhile Czechoslovakia became the first men's singles title holder, beating Robert Carmichael from Australia.

Boris Becker of Germany (1986, 1989, 1992) and Marat Safin of Russia (2000, 2002, 2004) have won the most titles, that is three each, and top the table position of the most singles winners.

In the doubles category, Jacco Eltingh and Paul Haarhuis and John Fitzgerald  have won the title three times each. The 2011 doubles title was won by the pair Aisam ul Haq Qureshi of Pakistan Rohan Bopanna of India by defeating the French pair Julien Benneteau and Nicolas Mahut.

Present world no.1 Swiss Roger Federer won the 2011 men's single title, but he is not defending his title this year. The decision was taken by Federer after he failed to win the ATP Basel for the sixth time and lost to Del Potro in the finals.

With Nadal virtually out of the tennis world and not participating in the tournament, world no.2 Serbian Novak Djokovic and British Andy Murray in the absence of Federer are the two main contestants, eyeing Paris and ending the year 2012 with a great winning.

Other major players participating in the tournament are David Ferrer, Tomas Berdych, Jo Wilfried Tsonga, Juan Martin Del Potro and Richard Gasquet.

Djokovic and Murray both commence their play from Wednesday today onward in the second round of the tournament.

The French wild card Paul-Henri Mathieu moved into the second round of Paris Masters after he beat Spanish Roberto Bautista-Agut 6-4, 7-5. Mathieu is playing after almost a year's absence due to knee injury.

Both Mathieu and Murray have met five times in their career since they first clashed at Miami in 2007. Of these five encounters, Murray has beaten Mathieu four times. Their last encounter was at Beijing 2010, when Murray won the first round match against Mathieu 6-2, 6-3.

Though Murray is in his very best state of fitness and form, he recently lost to Djokovic in the Shanghai final. He also lost to Raonic at Tokyo. So in the last ten matches  Murray has lost twice, but that should not cast any shadow on his fitness state.

Mathieu has lost five of his ten matches. He recently lost to Roger Federer at Basel 5-7, 4-6. For today's match, he as to prove his worth against the hot favourite Andy Murray, five years younger to him.

World no.2 and Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic of Serbia starts Paris Masters in the second round against 23rd ranked American Sam Querrey at Paris Wednesday afternoon today - the penultimate event of 2012.

After winning the French Open earlier this year, Djokovic has not been lucky to grab any other Grand Slam. However, recently in a revenge match of US Open final, Djokovic battled hard against British Andy Murray at Shanghai and won the title 5-7 7-6(11) 6-3. He also has not lost any of his last ten matches played so far.

On the other hand, the American has lost four of his last ten matches. His recent win was against Verdasco in the first round of Paris when Verdasco retired in the second set due to neck injury, when Querrey was leading 6-1 and 1-1.

Both Djokovic and Querrey have met four times before, since the met in Australian Open in 2008 and Djokovic has won all four matches.

With Federer and Rafael Nadal both missing from Paris, Djokovic is more likely to face with Murray in the final - their fourth final of the year.

Murray also starts his Paris stint tonight when he meetsPaul-Henri Mathieu.
