I must play perfect final to end Britain's title drought: Vows Andy Murray

Andy Murray made history by becoming Britain's first Wimbledon men's finalist for 74 years but his message was clear after beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga: the job's not done.

Another nerve - shredding afternoon ended with Murray setting up a Sunday showdown with six-time champion Roger Federer in his bid to be Britain's first men's singles champion since Fred Perry in 1936.

Murray, the first Brit in the final since Bunny Austin in 1938, gulped back tears after he had held off a dramatic charge from the Frenchman. Now he must banish the memories of two losing Grand Slam finals against Federer, at the US and Australian Opens, when he failed to win a set.

'I've learnt from those matches and, in tennis, every day is different. Roger is one of the greatest players ever and he's very, very tough to beat here. It's a great challenge, one where I'm not expected to win the match and there will probably be less pressure on me because of who he is.'

Historic Wimbledon Final 2012: Watch Live Federer vs Murray Free Streaming | 8 July Sunday

Wimbledon this year is into history making: In the Ladies's Singles title between Radwanksa and Serena Williams, being played Saturday afternoon, Serena is eyeing the title for the fifth time, while Radwanska is eyeing her maiden Wimbledon title this year and her country since 1939.

In the Men's Single event, Sunday 8 July is going to be a historic day at Wimbledon too, almost similar to the ladies' singles final: for on this day, two players are vying to make history - but only one may do so, though.

One Aim: Wimbledon Title Men's Single Event 2012
World no. 3 Swiss Roger Federer, who beat defending champion and world no.1 Novak Djokovic in the semi final, Friday marches into the Centre Court of Wimbledon on Sunday 8 July to for the eighth time to win the title for the seventh time and equal the record already held by British William Renshaw and American Pete Sempras.

British no.1 and world no.4 Andy Murray makes his maiden entry into the Wimbledon final and meets Federer to clinch the title and become first British to do so in 74 years since Bunny Austin in 1938.

Murray and Federer have known each other fifteen times since 2005, when they first played each other in Bangkok. Since then they have come a long way with Murray winning over the Swiss eight times. But despite the odds, Federer is being dubbed as a hot favourite to win the title despite being six years elder to Murray for his consistency, grip over the game and resolve. However, Murray has spark and power - and this brings two players facing each other: one with experience, the other with strength and support of home crowd.

Who wins? Well I keep my fingers crossed till the match ends this Sunday.

The historic final between Federer and Murray is scheduled for Sunday 8 July 2012 at the Centre Court
