The 2nd round results of the men's single event at Shanghai Rolex Masters 2012 held on Wednesday 10th October, some on 9th October, are as under:

As can be seen that almost all results are as expected except the match between Olympic Gold Medlaist British Andy Murray against Florian Mayer. In this case, Florian Mayer withdrew from the match due to rib injury, allowing a clear run to the British for the third round.

Murray will now face the world number 20 Alexandr Dolgopolov on Thursday for a place in the quarter finals.

World no.2 Serbian Novak Djokovic beat unseeded Austrian Melzer 6-1, 6-2 to reach the Beijing Open tennis championship to meet 29th ranked German Florian Mayer Saturday morning in Beijing.

Novak Djokovic has met the German thrice in his career and has overpowered him much too easily. They last met in Wimbledon this year when the Serbian won over the German 6-4, 6-1, 6-4.

In his last ten games, Djokovic has lost only once against Andy Murray in the US Open, the last Grand Slam of the year, in a very tough contest spread over five sets. The Olympic gold medalist British Andy Murray finally won over Djokovic 7-6(10) 7-5 2-6 3-6 6-2.

Mayer on the other hand has lost thrice in his last ten matches, losing to Seppi 7-5, 6-2 at Metz, France. Mayer moves to the semis, beating local hope Ze Zhang 6-3 6-4.

Novak Djokovic vs Florian Mayer: Free Live Streaming | Wimbledon - Quarterfinals

World no.1 and the defending champion Serbian Novak Djokovic plays his quarterfinal match against 29th ranked German Florian Mayer Wednesday afternoon on Court No.1.

Djokovic has played the German twice before and won both times.

Playing by the defending champion on Court No.1 and allowing the world no.3 Federer and later 4th ranked British Andy Murray on the Centre Court is rather puzzling. The weather forecast for Wednesday today is largely cloudy with outbreaks of mainly light rain, perhaps initially locally heavy, and drizzle. However, some brighter conditions may develop, together with scattered heavy showers in the afternoon. 

This means that there is a likelihood of Djokovic's match being disturbed on Court No.1 with no overhead cover like the Centre Court, which may also spill the match to day-10, breaking the momentum of the play. Does this mean that Roeger Federer is being preferred over the Serbian to take advantage of the Cente Court and allow him a trouble free match to sail him through to the finals and make history? 

The match is scheduled for Wednesday, 4 July 2012 at 12:00 GMT at the Court No.1.

Florian Mayer vs Rafael Nadal Free Live Streaming (ATP Rome)

Nadal may not have liked the remarks of recently crowned Serena Williams about men and their reservations about the blue clay, but he would be happy to play again on the red clay at Rome when he begins his tournament here in the second round against 28th ranked German Florian Mayer, Wednesday afternoon today.

Rafeal has met Mayer only once at ATP Shanghai in 2011 and lost to the German 6(5)-7 3-6.

Losing to his only match out of ten against Verdasco on the controversial blue clay of Madrid recenlty, Nadal lost his world no.2 ranking and moved a noth below to make way for Roger Federer. 

Florian Mayer has had a bad start in 2012 as he has lost seven out of last ten matches he has played. He lsot to Del Potro in Madrid 4-6, 2-6.

The match is scheduled for Wednesday, 16 May 2012 at 17:30 GMT
