Rafael Nadal eyes third Mubadala Championship


So finally Rafael Nadal is coming back into the news after his absence fom most of the events during 2012 mainly due to his troubling knee.


Now that he is been practicing, mainly in view of the forthcoming Australian Open in January 2013, his appearances in 'warm up' tournaments will show his state of fitness.

His first test comes when he plays the Mubadala Championship in Abu Dhabi later this month and should claim the title for the third time - if he is what he has been.

The current Mubadala Champion and world No.1 Novak Djokovic will defend his title against Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, David Ferrer, Tomas Berdych and Janko Tipsarevic.

Pakistan wins 2nd ODI against Australia


Having lost the first ODI against Aussies at Sharjah, Pakistan bounced back to win the 2nd ODI at Abu Dhabi with an impressive show of its batting force.

Pakistan's opener Jamshed hit an aggressive 97 that was the prime factor behind Pakistan's seven wicket win over Australia, levelling the three-match ODI series at 1-1 in Abu Dhabi.

22-year-old left-hander Jamshed took the attack to the Australian bowlers during his 98-ball innings, hitting 11 boundaries and two well-timed sixes to help his team successfully chase a 249-run target in the 43.4 overs at Abu Dhabi Stadium.

Although, Michael Hussey scored hefty 61, Pakistan's ace spinner Saeed Ajmal took a heavy toll of ther Aussies batsmen and dispatched 4 for 32 to the pavilion, while paceman Junaid Khan took 3-52.

Pakistan will now play its third ODI back in Sharjah on September 3-4 2012.

Great Britain vs UAE: Olympics Football - 29 July 2012 | Free Streaming Links

Great Britain plays its group match against United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sunday evening.

For UAE , the underdogs of Group A, winning of this match is a must as it has already lost to Uruguay 2-1 in its first match of the Olympic Football. Although UAE's team is thoroughly trained, it is still anovice team against the that of England.

As for the Brits, they have had a good start agianst Senegal at Old Trafford on Thursday, but the Senegal equalizer in 82nd minute dashed their hope of winning three points had they defeated Senegal.

Facing UAE may not be difficult for at least a draw game for them against the UAE at Wembley this evening. But would Brits win over the visitors from Gulf?

The match is scheduled for Sunday, 29 July 2012 at 18:45 GMT at Wembley.

Pak release dates for Aus series in UAE

Pakistan will play three one-day internationals and three Twenty20 matches against Australia between Aug. 28 and Sept. 10 in the United Arab Emirates.




The Pakistan Cricket Board released the schedule on Thursday, with Sharjah hosting the first and third ODIs on Aug. 28 and Sept. 3 and Abu Dhabi staging the second match on Aug. 31


All three Twenty20 matches will be played in Dubai, on Sept. 5, 7 and 10.
The ODIs will start at 6:00 p.m. local time to counter the extreme daytime heat in the UAE. The T20 games will begin at 8:00 p.m.

McIlroy shoots 71, trails leader Quiros by 5 shots

Rory McIlroy's chance for the European money title took a hit when his ball landed in the water on 18, finishing five shots off the lead halfway through the Dubai World Championship, United Arab Emirates on Friday.

McIlroy had a 1-under 71 to trail Spanish leader Alvaro Quiros, who eagled the 18th for a 64. Top-ranked Luke Donald finished with three straight birdies for a 68, tied for 12th.
