Germany vs Austria: World Cup Qualifying Matches | Free Live Streaming - 6 September 2013

In a series of qualifying matches for the upcoming World Cup football 2014, Germany plays against Austria Friday evening today. The two nations square off in a qualifier in Munich that could go some way to determining the World Cup fate of the visitors.

However, Germany's head coach Joachim Löw has warned of the threat Austria pose in their match on Friday, despite Germany, sitting top and five points ahead and having their qualification campaign in a strong position.

The German team is in good position as Joachim Low's side have won five of their six fixtures in the group and top the standings with 16 points and hope to continue their unbeaten record in qualifying.

A win Friday evening will push Germany a match closer to qualifying for the World Cup though, a feat they could achieve if they also beat the Faroe Islands on Tuesday.

The Austrians have had a three match unbeaten run before they  lost their last game, suffering a 2-0 friendly defeat against Greece last month.

The match is scheduled to be played on September 6, 2013 at 18.45 GMT at Allianz Arena, Munich

Oldest practicing gymnast - the Super Fit Granny

One comes across many people still in their 50s or 60s lamneting that they have become old and that it is time for them to rest.

But getting old is just a mindset or psychological. There are men and women much older that these ages who are not only keeping them smart and fit, but also winning trophies, awards and honours.

86 years old Johanna Quass is one such fitness enthusiasts who stunned and astonished the onlookers and spectators at the 2012 Cottbus World Cup in Germany with her remarkable feats of gymnastics.

One wonders how this looking-fragile women could keep her so super fit to perform some of the tough gymnastic feats, specially on the parallel bars, which are even otherwise harder to perform for young gymnasts. See some of her parallel bar photos and you will be amazed and awe stricken:

Dressed in a green leotard, Quass showed off her skills on both the floor and parallel bars at the 2012 Cottbus World Cup

-->

One may say that if one keeps oneself fit right from early age, this is possible. But not in case of Quass, who started taking gymnastic lessons in her thirties and then her passion grew and has brought her to this state of extreme fitness touching almost 90, when many grannies chose to play with their grandchildren in the comfort of their homes.

She sure is a women whose state of fitness and resolve should serve as role model not for young gymnasts to remain in shape but also ordinary odlies to at least keep fit and be in form and be a proud granny!!
I am the Super Fit Granny!!

While Australia braces itself for the Australian Open tennis a month from now, Melbourne is in limelight for the Champions Trophy of field hockey these day.

England stun Olympic champions Germany 4-1 in Champions Trophy
The jubilant Red Shirts after beating Germany 4-1

And what a stunning defeat Germany, the Olympic Champions, had at the hands of England Saturday. The 4-1 win by England must have stunned the Germans of the outcome of a match that featured two self goals too.

The Germans played with 10 men for the last 15 minutes after Niklas Grell was sent off following his second yellow card of the match, which automatically got converted into a red card. Trailing by two goals and one player short on the pitch, this marked the end of Germany's comeback hopes.

-->

The victory for England, six of whose players played their maiden international games yesterday in the 1-3 loss to India, was their first against Germany in Champions Trophy.

In othr matches, Four-time defending champions Australia were held to a goalless draw by Olympic silver medalists Netherlands, while Pakistan scored twice in the second session to prevail 2-0 over Belgium.

Germany successfully defended their Olympic hockey title when they beat Holland 2-1 in  a thrilling and exciting Olympic men's field hockey final Staurday night.

Both goals were scored by Jan Philipp Rabente, who thus denied the Dutch their dream of becoming the first nation to win both hockey golds at the same Games.

It may be added that Holland had a smooth sailing in the group matches and even beat Germany and they were hoping to snatch the gold from defending chmapions Germany this time.

The defeat thus equalises the Dutch's earlier edge over the Germans and let the Germans ge away with their second successive Olympic gold.

Germans laugh at 'Olympic disaster'

Germans already believe London 2012 will be an 'Olympic-sized disaster'.

Germany's leading news magazine has launched an attack on Britain’s preparations for the Olympics, poking fun at facilities and warning that the Games are destined to go down in history as a gigantic 'soggy mess'.

The article in Der Spiegel trashes numerous aspects about the Games, from the 'clattering' Tube system that will transport most spectators to Olympic venues to pavements that are 'too narrow' and a passport control situation at Heathrow bordering on chaotic.

'London and the Olympic Games are clearly not made for each other,' it said. 'Visitors will need determination and, most of all, patience to reach the venues at all. And, for the locals, it all can’t end soon enough.'

Italy defeats Germany in Euro 2012 Semis - Sets up final against Spain

Italy lived up to its tradition of winning all major events as it overpowered highly and hotly favourite Germany Thursday night at National Stadium, Warsaw.

While the Germans were determined to break the Italian mystic might, they could not fight the history, since Italy has always come out on top at major tournaments. The 4-3 Italy win in the 1970 semifinals in Mexico City is still remembered as one of the greatest World Cup matches, and Italy's 2-0 win in extra time six years ago is also part of Azzurri lore.

Although, this time, Germany was the only team which had won every match at Euro 2012. They topped the famous Group of Death after beating Portugal (1-0), the Netherlands (2-1) and Denmark (2-1). In the quarterfinals, they beat Greece 4-2, despite a formidable Greek resistance. But when it came to fighting against Italy, they were simply helpless last night.

Mario Balotelli was the man who scoring twice Thursday gave Italy a 2-1 win over Germany and though thought an unexpected spot in the European Championship final, but I would say the expected march into the final. Germany's winless streak against Italy in major tournaments to eight matches, had no answer for Balotelli nor Antonio Cassano's creativity.

The 21 years old Balotelli struck twice in the 20th and 36th minutes of the first half and washed away all critiscim for wasting numerous chances against Spain, Croatia and England.

Italy now faces defending champion Spain in Sunday's final in Kiev, Ukraine — a rematch of their 1-1 draw that opened Group C. Spain did come out lucky in its match against Portugal on penalties win, otherwise those who saw the defending champions playing aganist Portugal were largely disappointed by a rather boring Spanish play - not resembling even closely to that of a world champion's like.

Italy has won four World Cups, but has only one European Championship in its bag which was way back in 1968. So we now see in its final against Spain on Sunday at Olympic Stadium, Kiev how Italy proves that it has always come out on top at major tournaments.

Euro 2012: Another Germany-Italy Semi Final - Watch Free Live Streaming 28 June

The second semi final of Euro 2012 is being played on 28th June between favourites Germany and rather lucky Italy who won their quarterfinal match against England on penalties.

The first semi final is being played between defending champion Spain and Group B's Portugal Wednesday tonight at Donbass Arena, Donetsk, Ukraine.

The match between Germany and Italy would remind many of the semi final they played in 2006. Both teams play aggressively and attack constantly, which will add to excitement and fun besides watching good football at Warsaw Thursday night.

As for the two teams, Italy has always come out on top at major tournaments. The 4-3 Italy win in the 1970 semifinals in Mexico City is still remembered as one of the greatest World Cup matches, and Italy's 2-0 win in extra time six years ago is also part of Azzurri lore.

But this time, Germany is the only team which has won every match at Euro 2012. They topped the famous Group of Death after beating Portugal (1-0), the Netherlands (2-1) and Denmark (2-1). In the quarterfinals, they beat Greece 4-2, despite a formidable Greek resistance.

and what happens when the two meet Thursday night? Well many say that if the Italians played the way they played England and Ireland, they will be punished severely - they will not be able to match the superior speed of the Germans. However, the Italians can only take advantage of the Germans if they get sloppy on the back line.

The midfielders of both sides, that is Mesut Ozil and Andrea Pirlo, are likely to play the decisive game.

But despite everything, Germans are being favoured to win over the Azzurris.

The match is scheduled for Thursday, 28 June 2012 at 18:45 GMT at National Stadium, Warsaw.

Spain dismantles France to Play Portugal in Euro 2012 Semis

Saturday's clash between the defending and world champion Spain and France was one sided show. Spain beat France by two clean goals with no counter resistance from the French camp side.

In his 100th appearance for Spain, Xabi Alonso showed his mettle and scored both goals to play in the semis and took Spain a step closer to defend their title. The goals came in 11th and 90th minutes.

Spain's win ended a run in which they had failed to beat France in major competitions, with memories fresh of Les Bleus' 2-0 win in the final of Euro 1984 and their 3-1 victory in the last 16 of the World Cup in 2006.

Spain now meets Portugal in the first semi final of Euro 2012.

In the meantime, England and Italy are playing the the last quarter final of the competition in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, Sunday night tonight. The winner of tonight's match will face Germany in the second semi-final in Warsaw, Poland, next Thursday.

Both countries are under going in a battle of words already which culminates Friday evening into actual war of the foot and ball.

In the last five matches played by Germany, it hs lost only once agianst Switzerland (3-5). In fact, Germany, the youngest squad in the tournament, is the only team to have maintained a perfect record in the group stages.

As for Greece they have the best defence and would be able to withold the strong German offensive. Althought eh Germans are hot favourite for Friday nights duel, what if Greece over powers the Germans? A chance in millions but would be a great setback at Euro 2012.

Denmark vs Germany: Watch live Free Streaming Euro 2012 17 June

In the Group B match of Euro 2012, Denmark plays against Germany Sunday evening at  Lviv.

Germany presenlt leads the Group with 6 points two wins, while Denmark (and Portugal) have three points each with 1W1L. Netherlands is at the bottom with no points having lost both of its matches.

Denmark, therefore, plays its important match against Germany Sunday. If Germany has a drawn match with Denmark, it will get seven points and Denmark will too get a point to make its total to four. This would mean elimination of Netherland.

The opportunity thus awaits the Danes Sunday to stun the Germans. Denmark coach Morten Olsen will achieve one of his greatest managerial feats if he can secure a Euro 2012 quarter-finals berth for his country.

Despite winning their first two matches in Group B, Germany could still miss out on the quarter-finals if they lose to Denmark by two goals or more and Portugal defeat the Netherlands.

So let us watch today's Group B matches, as Portugal  also plays Netherlands later Sunday, and see if the Danes can undo the German efforts to still remain on top.

The match is scheduled for Sunday, 17 June 2012 at 20:45 GMT at Arena Lviv, Ukraine.

Portugal beat Denmark 3-2

The Germans enetered the arena against the Portugeese to but left dismayed after being mauled by their opponents.

The Portugeese displayed a superior play and forced the Germans out of the field 3-2. The winner goal came in the 87th minute by Silvestre Varela.

Now Germany, Portugal and Denmark have three points easch - while the Dutch remain pointless so far in Group B.

Germany vs Netherlands: Free Live Streaming - Euro 2012

Wednesday today is the day when two of the longstanding football rivals meet to play their Group B match of Euro 2012. The rivalry between the two dates back of the days when Netherlands was occupied by Germany and when the Dutch lost to Germany in 1974 FIFA World Cup. Perhaps that is the reason that no match between the two countries has ever been played on the Dutch soil.

Netherlands vs Germany: The Dutch 'must' win
Despite the rivalry, both countries have one of the strongest football teams of the fottball world today. Germany dominates the Dutch with 10 wins in the last 37 matches the both countries met - the Dutch have won only 10 times against Germany, while 14 were drawn.

But today the Dutch must win - they lost to Denmark 0-1 in their Group B match. And if they lose today, it could could seal their exit from the tournament at the first hurdle. But there seems a resolve to win as Netherlands defender Johnny Heitinga says nothing short of victory will do against Germany on Wednesday.

So let us see whther the Germans allow the Dutch to tame them and let them win or the Germans strike as they always do to win over their rivals.

The match between Germany and Netherlands is scheduled for Wednesday, 13 June 2012 at 18:45 GMT at Metalist Stadium in Kharkiv.
