The record says much about today's final as Djokovic has not been able to win any Grand Slam since the australian Open earlier this year. Tsonga is showing promise lately and may become a threat to Djokovic in today's final.

Andy Murray humbles Tsonga - wins his maiden entry to Wimbledon Final

He faces 3rd ranked Swiss Roger Federer in the finals on Sunday at the Centre Court.

Federer dethroned defending champion Novak Djokovic 6-3, 6-3, 6-4, 6-3.

While Federer aims to win the Wimbledon title to equal the record of seven wins of William Renshaw and Pete Sempras, Andy Murray eyes a win not only his first but also for the Britain in 73 years.

The British no.1 and world no.4 Andy Murray - the Londoners' darling, plays his semi final match against 6th ranked French  Jo-Wilfried Tsonga friday afternoon on the Centre Court, following the clash of the titans' semi final between world no.1 and the defending champion Novak Djokovic and 3rd ranked Roger Federer.

Andy moved to the semi final after a thriller between him and Spaniard David Ferrer - a memorable quarterfinal match ever. The Spaniard played like Nadal, never willing to give up and continued contesting the Scot till the last.

The French on the other hand too had a difficult quarterfinal against P. Kohlschreiber, spread over four sets but fianlly won over 7-6(5) 4-6 7-6(3) 6-2.

Although, the first semi final between Djokovic and federer will draw maximum crowd, I think the entire London will swarm the Centre Court to watch their darling playing.  The match also assumes added importance because Murray, hoping to end Britain's 76-year wait for a male singles champion at Wimbledon, is now just one win away from becoming the first British man to reach the All England Club final since Bunny Austin in 1938.

Wimbledon day-2: Nadal and Tsonga, Kvitova, Serena and Azarenka move to Second Round

Roland Garros seven times champion and world no.2 Spaniard Rafael Nadal beats Bellucci 7-6 6-2 6-3 to move to the second round of Wimbledon Tuesday evening today.

After a long spell of red and blue clay, Nadal found it difficult to adjust to the green grass at Halle, where he lost to P. Kohlschreiber 6-3 6-4.

And it seemed that he may find it difficult at Wimbledon too to adjust to the green grass - which actually he did as the Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci lead 4-0 in the first set beating back Rafa. But finally Nadal made it 4-4 and then on to win the first set 7-6 and later the match 7-6 6-2 6-3.

French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beat australian Lleyton Hewitt 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.

In the women singles, Defending champion Czech Petra Kvitova defeated Uzbekistan's Akgul Amanmuradova 6-4, 6-4 to move on to defend her title.

Djokovic vs Tsonga Watch Live Free Streaming Roland Garros Quarters

In the first quarter final (men) of Roland Garros Tuesday morning, world no.1 Serbian Novak Djokovic plays agianst 5th ranked French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at Court Philippe Chatrier.

This is the 12th time both players are coming face to face since their first encounter at Australian Open in 2008 which the Serb won. Otherwise the French has an upper hand against the Serb of 6-5.

Djokovic moves to the quarters after defeating A Seppi in long five set matc of 4-6 6-7(5) 6-3 7-5 6-3. The Serb has lost only twice this year at Madrid against J. Tipsarevic and Rome against Nadal.

Tsonga made it to the quarters after beating S. Wawrinka in a rather tough contest of 6-4 7-6(6) 3-6 3-6 6-4. In the last ten matches played, Tsonga has lost twice at Munich against Hass abd Rome against Djokovic.  

The quarterfinal match is scheduled for Tuesday, 5 June 2012 at 15:30 GMT on Court Philippe Chatrier.

The Internazionali BNL d’Italia tennis tournament enters the quarterfinals stage Friday today and in one of the QF matches, the defending champion and world number 1 Serbian Novak Djokovic faces 5th ranked French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the Rome Internazionali BNL d’Italia tennis tournament.

Djokovic moves into the quarters after beating J Monaco 4-6 6-2 6-3 Thursday on  awindy day at Rome. Tsonga moves into the QF after a straight run over Del Potro 6-4, 6-1.

Both the Serb and the French have met 10 times before their clash today. Interestingly, the French has a winning dge over the Serbian of 6-4. All of their encounters so far have been on Grass or Hard courts - Friday's being their first match on the clay. Their most difficult match was the Australian Open 2010, when Tsonga won after a long hard contested match of five complete sets 7-6(8) 6-7(5) 1-6 6-3 6-1.

The form of both players at this point in time is almost equal as of the last ten matches played, Djokovic has lost two, while Tsonga has lost three. How it turns out to be, let us watch the match today afternoon.

Del Potro has a rather clean sheet of 9-1 of the last ten matches played, while Tsonga has a stained record of 5-5. Tsonga last lost to A. Dolgopolov 7-5 3-6 7-6(2) at Madrid.

Both Potro and Tsonga have across six times in their career since 2007 and the Argentinian has a 5-1 lead over the French.

Going by the win-loss edge and the form both palyers are at the moment, it can be safely predicted that Del Potro will have a winning edge over the French in Thursday evening's match.
