5 time Gerry Weber Open champion and World No. 3 Swiss Roger Federer faces 29th ranked Russian Mikhail Youzhny in the final of ATP Halle - Gery Weber Open  on Sunday morning today.

Earlier yesterday, Roger Federer moved closer to winning his first title of the year by defeating Germany's Tommy Haas to reach Halle Open final. Federer beat German Tommy Haas 3-6 6-3 6-4 and took revenge of losing to Haas in last year's final.

Youzhny, who has lost all 14 past encounters against Federer, beat Frenchman Richard Gasquet 6-3 6-2. to face Federer in the final yet again for the 15 time.

The men's single Halle final is scheduled for Sunday, 16 June 2013 at 12:00 GMT.

Federer plays Youzhny in ATP Halle Semi Finals: Watch Live Online Free Streaming - Saturday 16 June

Friday saw exit of Nadal from AT Halle and smooth sailing of world No.3 Swiss Roger Federer into the championship when he he beat fifth seed Canadian Milos Raonic  6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3) to reach the Halle semi-finals.

Like Nadal who eyed the Roland Garros for the record seventh time, Federer is looking forward to win the ATP Halle / Gerry Weber Open for the sixth time. Federer has had a good year of lifting tropheies, albeit no Grand Slam, at  Rotterdam (d. del Potro), Dubai (d. Murray), Indian Wells (d. Isner) and Madrid (d. Berdych).

Federer finds it easier on grass rather than clay, which he was subjected to on last so many matches and championships where he could no click.

Federer has met Russian Mikhail Youzhny 13 times since they first met at ATP Stockholm in 2000 and has a clear winning edge of 13-0 over the Russian. They last met at ATP Dubai earlier this year when Federer won 6-3, 6-4.

Mikhail Youzhny has won all of his last three matches on grass at Halle and he beat R. Stepanek 6-4 4-6 6-4 to reach the semis to face Federer.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, 16 June 2012 at 10:00 GMT

Federer meets Youzhny in Dubai Tennis Championship 2012 [ Free Live Streaming ]

It is a busy day today at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship 2012 at Dubai - it the day of quarterfinals. We have already written about the quarter final between Davis Cup teammates Novak Djokovic vs Janko Tipsarevic, which is going to be quite interesting since both know each other well - and what is more: Tipsarevic has beaten his fellow countryman Djokovic in the  round-robin stages of the ATP World Tour Finals in London in November 2011.

Then in another quarterfinal,  Juan Martin Del Potro and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga are facing each other.

But for now, let us concentrate on the quarterfinal between Roger Federer and Mikhail Youzhny, which is being played at 13:00 GMT.  For Federer, playing tennis is always emotional and any upset can hurt him out-rightly and visibly too. For Federer, the courts of Dubai will definitely favour as these are quicker this time and would allow Federer hitting smashes and moving the balls across the net with greater speed and force.

The Russian is good too, something that Federer also acknowledges. Youzhny has had good tennis in Dubai previously and has even made to the final some time back.
