Rafael Nadal, who has not been seen much since last June when he was knocked out of Wimbledon due to his ailing knee, seem to be right on course for his comeback to the tennis world.
In his appearance, Rafa looks slimmer than before, and he's shown no signs of favoring his left knee. He has raced recklessly to chase down several shots in the tournament, a strong part of his game that wins him points.
He has reached the finals beating Jérémy Chardy, 6-2, 6-2.
Nadal and Juan Monaco won their doubles semifinal on Friday, so the former No. 1 is slated to play twice on Sunday. He will face Argentine Horacio Zeballos in the singles final and team with Monaco to take on Italy's Paolo Lorenzi and Potito Starace in doubles.
It may be added that the 11 times Grand Slam winner slipped to No. 5 in the world ranking, and will fall further in the coming weeks because he missed so many events.
Therefore, if Nadal want to be in, he must be on a winning spree right from the outset, making headway forward to Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo and the to the Roland Garros - a title he has won seven times.
