Herself former French Open champion Ana Ivanovic beat sixth ranked German Angelique Kerber 6-3, 6-1 to move into the semis. This was the Serb's third win over Kerber in as many meetings.

Sharapova has beaten Ivanovic in six of their eight career meetings. Their most recent encounter was two weeks ago at Stuttgart quarters which the Russian won 7-5 4-6 6-4 in a tight three setter match.

Sharapova, who has yet to drop a set at the Caja Magica, lost to Serena Williams in Miami earlier this year, is eyeing the Madrid title bringing an end to the winning spree of the resilient American and world no.1 Serena Williams.

Ivanovic vs Czink: Watch Live Free Streaming | Australian Open - First Round 14 January 2013

Ana met Czink at Canberra in 2005 for the first time and has since played four matches against the Hungarian with a winning edge of 3-1. The last time when the both ladies met was the second round of  Cincinnati in 2009 which was won over by Czink 7-6(6) 7-5.

AS of now, the Hungarian is in a pretty bad form of fitness as she has lost NINE out of her last tren matches she played. She recently lost to M. Keys 6-2 6-2 at Sydney.

Ivanovic has also not fared good so far, as she has lost four of her last ten matches. Her last match was against A. Medina Garrigues at Hopman Cup, which Median won 6-4 6-7(3) 6-2.

Although Ivanovic is likely to win the match, nothing be said with much certainty.

The first round of Australian Open Match between Ivanovic and Czink is scheduled for Monday, 14 January 2013 at 10:30 GMT on the Rod Laver Arena.

For today's semi final and the coming final, Stosur is the hot favourite. However, Ivanovic, the double handed back hand Serbian is considered to be the most sexiest player and is favourite of many for her appearance and beauty.

Taking things at random, I chose Moscow, otherwise not much talked about in the field of sports other than its international participation, where world no. 12 Serbian Ana Ivnovic plays against 217th ranked Russian Valeria Solovieva Thursday morning.

The two do not seem to have played before and it may be fun seeing the two playing - experience versus youth as Ivanovic is five years older to the Russian.

Ivanovic has had a rather troubled year as she has lost four of her last ten matches. She recently lost to Fipkens at Linz.

The Russian too has not been playing well, having five of her ten matches played recently. However, it is needless to say that Ivanovic is favourite for the matach this morning.

14th ranked Serbian Ana Ivanovic plays her second round match against 66th ranked Kateryna Bondarenko from Ukraine at Court No.3 Thursday.

Bondarenko has lost SIX of her last ten matches, last being at WTA 's-Hertogenbosch agaisnt K. Clijsters 6-2 6-1. She moved to the second round after beating K. Date-Krumm 5-7 6-3 6-3.

Who wins the second round - I keep my fingers crossed.

WTA Stuttgart: Mona Barthel upsets Ana Ivanovic

Mona Barthel of Germany rallied to upset Ana Ivanovic of Serbia 7-5, 7-6 (4) on Wednesday in the first round of the Porsche Grand Prix.

Ivanovic led 5-3 in the first set and held three set points on Barthel's serve. But the wild card saved two, then fired an ace to turn the match around.

Agkul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan replaced the injured Daniela Hantuchova in the main draw and went on to upset another Slovak, Dominika Cibulkova, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3.

Fourth-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland cruised past qualifier Greta Arn of Hungary 6-3, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals.

WTA Miami: Watch V. Williams vs Ivanovic Free Live Stream

Former World No.1 and three time former champion Venus Williams takes on Serbian Ana Ivanovic for a place in the quarterfinals of the 2012 Sony Ericsson Open.

Miss Williams has been away from active tennis screen for quite sometime and her appearance has rightly impressed everyone as she seems to have fully recovered from her disease of Sjogren's Syndrome. For tonight's match, Williams ovecame a stiff challenge from Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak.

Ivanovic, currently ranked Number 16, on the other hand is in hot form with a list of eleven single titles to here name. Ivanovic seems to have recovered from her hip injury which forced her to quit the Indian Wells and seems in full form as she convincingly beat Hantuchova last night.

How would the fare toight. Well looking into the past history, both have come face to face eight times before and Williams has upper edge of having won all but one match against Ivanovic.In their last encounter, William had a straight set victory in Eastbourne in 2011.

Unless there are some surprises tonight, Williams is the hot favourite, winning the match in straight sets.

The last match between the two was at Brimingham in 2011, which Hantuchova won by 6-7(2) 6-3 6-2.

Who wins tonight? Well both have equal chances and no one is being dubbed as favourite. Although Hantuchova has had an upper edge for winning their last match, Ivanovic seems equally prepared to taker her on. Ivanovic's straight sets win the second round over America’s Vania King shows she has overcame her injury for which she retired in the Indian Wells.

So we are now into the semi finals of the Indian Wells tennis and to start with we have the girls on the court to show their strength and game. Maria Sharapova is the one facing Ana Ivonovic in the semi final Saturday. Both have cruised into the semi finals by beating their opponents Thursday.

Ana Ivanovic made it to the semis in straight set win over Marion Bartoli 6-3, 6-4. Bartoli's exit means that both last year's winner Wozniacki and runner-up are out of the women's draw.

But it wsn't easy for the Sharapova as the three time Grand Slam winner had a scare from her Russian opponent Maria  Maria Kirilenko. The latter opened the match with aggressively and clinched the first set 6-3 from Sharapova, giving her the surprise of her life. Although, Sharapova recovered and won the match 7-5, 6-2 later, it must have been quite a jolt. It took Sharapova three hours and five minutes to win the the game.

In the other semi final, World No 1 Victoria Azarenka of Belarus will face 18th-seeded German Angelique Kerber in the other semi-final, both having played their quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Now the fifteenth-seeded Ivanovic, the 2008 champion, and second seed Sharapova, who won the Indian Wells in 2006, will meet in the last four at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Friday. Both girsl ahe shown their best game so far and although Sharapova is the hot favourite, Ivanovic is equally charged and poised to win the semi. We have to watch this crucial match today to see who sails through and reaches the final.

Ivanovic first player to reach Semis of Indian Wells

Former champion Ana Ivanovic became the first player to reach the semi-finals of the Indian Wells WTA tournament with a 6-3 6-4 upset over ailing seventh seed Marion Bartoli on Thursday.

The 15th-seeded Serb, who had ousted defending champion Caroline Wozniacki in the previous round, seized control with her powerful serving and strong baseline game after being broken in the first game of the match.

She broke the Frenchwoman, who was runner-up last year, three times before wrapping up the win in one hour 17 minutes when her opponent pushed a forehand service return wide.

In the early hours of the Wednesday morning, there is yet another interesting match in waiting - a match between the two former champions and WTA World Number Ones Ivanovic and Wozniacki. This match should be interesting as the head to head duel between the two girls for the QF spot attracts lot of fans and audience to witness the match.

Ana Ivanovic who won the Indian Wells title in 2008 is all set to move on into the higher ranks. On the other hand the defending champion and number four Caroline Wozniacki is also no less and can be adequately dangerous to Ivanovic Wednesday morning.

In the recent years, both have met four times with equal success and defeats. Ivanovic won over Wozniacki in 2008 at the French and Australian Open. And coming on with an equalizer, Wozniacki  won over Ivanovic at Beijing in 2010 and lately in Dubai Duty Free last month. This puts both the girls in balance but this is a new arena far from France, China, Australia and Dubai. Playing in USA would be a delight for both as well as for the fans, though it will be difficult to remain awake till the match commences.

Ivanovic still regrets her losing to the Dane and says,"I felt like I was quite close in Dubai. The quality of the match was a little bit up and down. I'm really looking forward to a rematch."

Ivanovic's remarks speaks of a comeback. Who wins - no one is really very sure of. Let us keep our fingers crossed.
