Miami Masters: Polish Superstar Radwanska wins over Russian Fairy Sharapova

Jubilant Radwanska
While it would have been a dream come true for the World Number Two Maria Sharapova to win the Miami Masters Tennis tournament, World Number Four Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska ransacked her dreams to become the queen at Florida Saturday night.

Agnieszka Radwanska beat Maria Sharapova in straight sets 7-5, 6-4 to win the the Sony Ericsson Open women's single title. With this defeat, it is Maria's fourth final which she has not been able to win here at Miami, Florida USA. Although, Sharapova did pose a stiff resisitance in the first set, she could not much impress the Polish superstar, who clinched the second with much ease.

Agnieszka Radwanska, on the other hand has won her second title of the year and her ninth WTA title. She earlier won the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship. It may be added here that the Polish girl did not lose a single set at Miami and showed consistency and resilience to reach the top.

Needless to say the beaming overjoyed Radwanska was very very happy at this great victory:
“I’m just very, very happy that I have been able to play my best tennis since the beginning of the year. Let’s hope that I can continue. I will never be able to serve like Maria but I try different things and mix it up.”
Radwanska now aims to to push for a first grand slam title.

All eye are now set on today's final event at Miami - the men's single final between the World Number One and the defending champion Novak Djokovic and the British Number One Andy Murray, Sunday April 1, 2012. It remains to be seen who surprises who on this day - the 1st April!!

Nadal vs Murray: Miami Masters Semi Finals: Watch Live Streaming

So the days of the Miami Masters ATP Tennis tournament are now just numbered as the pyramid has now narrowed down at the top to just four contenders. It is from these four that the finalist will try their luck to lift the Miami Cup 2012. The four lucky semi finalists include, Djokovic, Monaco, Nadal and Murray.

The semi final of Nadal and Murray is scheduled to be played Friday evening at 19:00 GMT.

Well ask anyone and it will be Nadal the hot favourite for tongiht. But crashing out of Federer, while he was favourite too at he hands of Roddick is one example of favourites crashing out. And even Roddick too crashed out after beating Federer.

Murray, the Dubai champion, had some hydration problem during the quarters final match. But he managed a win.

Both Nadal and Murray have previously met 18 times, of which Nadal has won 13 times - that s why he is being dubbed as the favourite tonight. And the winner of the two tonight is likely to meet Djokovic - since Djokovic is favourite too in his match against Monaco that gets played later tonight.

Well then, with these hots and odds, let us watch this crucial semi at 19:00 GMT and findout who reaches a step short of the top to play the final.

Miami: Tsonga accuses umpire of Nadal 'favouritism'

Losing with honour is difficult and when one makes excuses, it makes the world of sport as controversial as politics.

This was exactly the case when Tsonga lost to Nadal in the Sony Ericsson Tennis. After Nadal won the first set 6-2, the second set was nerve breaking and Nadal lost to Tsonga 5-7. But in the third set, Nadal regained and won 6-4.

Tsonga accuses the umpire for siding with Nadal when they were 4-4 in the final set and claims that despite many calls to umpire, he was unheard.

Despite claims, Nadal moves on. But if Tsonga had any real claims, he should have walked over to the umpire and complained loud and clear. Why lament after it is all over?

Miami: Nadal, Murray set up semi-final showdown

Rafael Nadal set up a mouthwatering semi-final clash with Andy Murray at the ATP/WTA Miami tournament, coming through a tough battle with French sixth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
The Spanish world number two, chasing his first tournament win of the season, needed almost three hours to defeat Tsonga 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 in a quarter-final night match.
Earlier, 2009 champion Murray, chasing his second title of the season after a win in Brisbane, rallied to beat Serb ninth seed Janko Tipsarevic 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Roger Federer loses flight to Miami - and so does Roddick

Both Federer and Roddick crash out of Miami
While World Numbers 1 and 2 Djokovic and Nadal moved to the quarterfinals of the Sony Ericsson Open / Miami Masters 2012, one of the hot favourites and World Number 3 missed his flight to Miami.

although Federer was the hot favourite against Roddick, but the latter proved too tough this time and did not budge from his ground even after losing the second set to Federer 6-1 so easily. Roddick having won the first set 7-6, then went on to win the third set 6-4, cancelling Federer's flight to Miami for year 2012.

But what happened to Roddick thereafter is another story. Within 24 hours of the mighty win against Federer, came against tough resistance from Monaco. Although in first set Roddick did fight hard to lose at 5-7, the second set was a disaster when he could not win a single game and lost the match 5-7, 0-6.

Thus both Federer and Rodick are now booking their tickets back home, instead of going to Miami. That is sports !!

Nadal, Djokovic and Sharapova advance to Miami quarters

The world's top two players have advanced to the quarter-finals of the ATP and WTA Miami hardcourt tournament on Tuesday with both Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal posting straight-sets victories - but one of the hot favourites and contender for the title Roger Federer had a crashing fall.

World No.1 Serb Djokovic beat French 17th seed Richard Gasquet 7-5 6-3.

World No.2 Nadal of Spain progressed with a 6-4 6-4 victory over Japanese 16th seed Kei Nishikori. Nadal, a three-time Miami runner-up who has never lifted the trophy at the $US9.6 million event, will face the winner of a later match between French sixth seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and German 19th seed Florian Mayer.

World No.2 Russian Maria Sharapova of Russia advanced to the semi-finals with a 6-3 6-0 victory over Chinese eighth seed Li Na. Sharapova will next face the winner of a later match between US 10th seed Serena Williams and Denmark's fourth-seeded Caroline Wozniacki.

Roger Federer Vs Andy Roddick: Miami Masters 2012

Monday's encounter between Roger Federer and Andy Roddick is being seen as an earlier than expected and may upset the whole show, if there are any upsets, you know what I mean.

Federe vs Roddick: Are they meeting earlier than expected?
World Number 3 Swiss Roger Federer, the 16 time Grand Slam champion will be taking on former World Number 1 and his old rival after defeating the American Ryan Harrison in the second round in straight sets with a 6-2, 7-6.

Frederer is aiming to win the fourth ATP title of the season, provided all goes well after match with Roddick.

Roddick comes to meet Freder after eliminating his second round opponent Gilles Muller in straight sets with a 6-3, 6-2. However the World No 34 will have to play a very tough match Monday and will have to keep his wits about and concentrate on his game with full chargers on.

Who wins would time decide - but their previous perforamce of 27 encounters show a 23-3 win in Federer's favour. The last time they met was at the Basel Open quarter finalin 2011 and Federer easily overpowered Roddick 6-3, 6-2. Needless to say, Federer is hot favourite and is likey to have an easy sailing in to the quarters. I do not why then people are speculating the encounter between the two as earlier than expected?

The match Monday will be played at 23:30 GMT on Monday 26th March at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Miami.

WTA Miami: Watch V. Williams vs Ivanovic Free Live Stream

Former World No.1 and three time former champion Venus Williams takes on Serbian Ana Ivanovic for a place in the quarterfinals of the 2012 Sony Ericsson Open.

Miss Williams has been away from active tennis screen for quite sometime and her appearance has rightly impressed everyone as she seems to have fully recovered from her disease of Sjogren's Syndrome. For tonight's match, Williams ovecame a stiff challenge from Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak.

Ivanovic, currently ranked Number 16, on the other hand is in hot form with a list of eleven single titles to here name. Ivanovic seems to have recovered from her hip injury which forced her to quit the Indian Wells and seems in full form as she convincingly beat Hantuchova last night.

How would the fare toight. Well looking into the past history, both have come face to face eight times before and Williams has upper edge of having won all but one match against Ivanovic. In their last encounter, William had a straight set victory in Eastbourne in 2011.

Unless there are some surprises tonight, Williams is the hot favourite, winning the match in straight sets.

We look forward to an interesting match between the ladies, which is likely to commence at 01:00 GMT on 27 March 2012.

Clijsters falls in Miami

The third round of Miami Masters / Sony Ericsson Open Championship 2012 continues with its third round matches on Sunday.

The hot news is about fall of  former number one and twice Miami winner Kim Clijsters at the hands of Belgian Yanina Wickmayer 6-4 7-6 in their third round clash. Although Clijsters fought hard and survived six match points, but the Belgian proved too tough for her win over.

Besides fall of Kim, World Number Two Maria Sharapova made her way forward. Australia's U.S. Open champion Samantha Stosur avoided an early exit by storming back after falling a set and 4-2 down to beat South African Chanelle Scheepers 2-6 7-5 6-2. Serena Williams served her way into the fourth round in Miami action on Saturday.

As for other results, World Number One Novak Djokovic moved ahead unhindered by beating Baghdatis 6-4, 6-4, while R. Nadal beat R Stepanek instraight sets 6-2, 6-2, and J Tsonga beat P. Kohlschreiber 6-4, 7-6. Roger Federer had a tough time tackling local wildcard Ryan Harrison after winning first set and had to fight hard in the second set before winning over Ryan 6-2, 7-6. Andy Murray gets a walkover after Milos Raonic pulls out of their third-round clash.

Rafeal Nadal takes on Radek Stepanek: Watch Live Stream

In another interesting third round match tonight, Rafeal Nadal takes on Radek Stepanek.

Te world Number 2 has had a meaningful win this year - he recently lost to Federer in the semi final of the Indian Wells and quite obviously will be vying to make up for his prevous losses to start a winning 2012 from Miami onwards. His dismantling of Colombian Santiago Giraldo in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 in the second round of the Sony Ericsson Open shows aggressiveness and motivation o win games ahead.

Tonight Nadal faces 25th seeded Radek Stepanek of Czech Republic. Stepanek has moved into the third round after defeating Tommy Haas 7-6(4), 6-1. Stepanek was broken just once, winning 80 per cent of his first serve points to advance in one hour and 42 minutes.

Both Nadal and Stepanek have met five times before and Stepanek is looking for his first win over Nadal in their tonight's sixth encounter. But can Stepanek win over Nadal?

Well, Nadal is hot favourite and is speculated to win over Stepanek in straight sets. It is very important for Nadal to win - and continue winning to take the title here at Miami this year. Nadal himself says:
"The Latin crowd makes this tournament very, very special - I would love to win one time in my career, but [I've done] well. I played three finals."
So that is how it is for tonight - are you keeping your fingers crossed or go for the hot favourite? Watch the match tonight, which commences around 21:30 GMT Sunday 25 March.

Watch Live Hantuchova vs Ivanovic: Sony Ericsson Open

Besides many men single events at the Sony Ericsson Open / Miami Masters Tennis being played at Miami Florida, USA, the ladies too are making their way forward.

Of the ladies singles, one such match tonight is between Hantuchova and Ivanovic.

The Slovak Daniela Hantuchova is currently ranked 19(+2), who takes on the Serb Ana Ivanovic, currently ranked 16. It will be the seventh meeting between the pair; Ana has won four of the previous six. D. Hantuchova has reached third round stage by winning over K. Bondarenko with 2 : 1 (6 : 7) (6 : 2) (7 : 6), while Ivanovic won her her second round matchup against America’s Vania King by 6-2 7-6.

In the last ten matches played by both players, each have won seven out of the ten. Readers would remember Ivanovic retiring in the recently held Indian Wells match, when playing against Sharapova. Ivanovic was down in first set 4-6 and having won the frist game of the second set, retired due to injury and pain. In the last six head to head encounters, Ivanovic has an upper hand of 4:2. The last match between the two was at Brimingham in 2011, which Hantuchova won by 6-7(2) 6-3 6-2.

Who wins tonight? Well both have equal chances and no one is being dubbed as favourite. Although Hantuchova has had an upper edge for winning their last match, Ivanovic seems equally prepared to taker her on. Ivanovic's straight sets win the second round over America’s Vania King shows she has overcame her injury for which she retired in the Indian Wells.

The match tonight between Hantuchova - Ivanovic is scheduled to take place around 21:00 GMT on the Stadium Court.

Sony Ericsson Open Live Stream Online: Andy Murray vs. Milos Raonic

In the pre-quarterfinals of the Sony Ericsson Miami Masters ATP World Tour 1000 event, which is being held in Miami, Florida USA, a number of matches are being played tonight, in which all major stars are appearing to duel with rather lesser ones. We have already wrote about the match between Inser and Mayer, which is being played on 26 March 2012 at 2:30 GMT.

But before that, it is World Number 4 and 2009 Champion Andy Murray who is taking on the Canadian Milos Raonic tonight in the pre-quarterfinals of the Miami Masters.

Murray had had a tough luck in the Indian Wells when he was ousted even having been crowned earlier this year. In the Indian Wells he had a tough luck against Rogerer Federer and was out of the courts. But despite all odds, he seems refreshing and determined to prove his worth now at Miami.
Murray's opponent, Canadian Raonic is currently ranked number 26. He has had title wins at San Jose and Chennai earlier this year. He also has a commendable 17-3 ein-loss track record, which shows the Canadian to be in full form too.
Murray's opponent, Canadian Milos Raonic tested Lleyton Hewitt to limits in Australia at the year's first Grand Slam event before clinching a title in San Jose, adding it to his triumph in Chennai in the year's first ATP World Tour event. Currently ranked No.26 in the world, Raonic has a fabulous 17-3 win loss record.
However, Murray remains to be the hot favourite for tonight's match and is expected to win in straight sets unless Raonic has something up his sleeve to surprise the British.
The match gets underway at 19:00 GMT.

Miami Masters live stream: Florien Mayer vs John Isner

Now after the Indian Wells, Miami Masters is getting hot and stars are inching upward in the position table for the Grand Finale. Tonight or Monday early morning, Florien Mayer is taking on John Isner at 02:30 GMT.

World Number 10 John Isner who defeats Nikolay Davydenko 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, meets Germany's Florien Mayer, who moves forward after defeating Ivan Dodig 6-4, 7-5.

Although, American John Inser has made his debut just two years before, but his most notable win has been in the recently concluded Indian Wells when he ousted the World Number One and Indian Wells defending Champion Novak Djokovic in the semi final. This made him move one notch higher from his 11th position to 10th. Inser has so far won 3 ATP titles and is viewed by many as someone who can upset the big stars.

As for the German, who is currently ranked 19th in the world ranking, has won only one notable titile so far, that was in Bucharest in 2011. Obviously his newer in the world of Tennis than Inser, who has already faced big giants and even defeated the reigning king.

Both Inser and Mayer are meeting for the first time but keeping in view their track record, Inser definitely is a favourite. With a singles rating of 10(+1), Inser having defeated World Number One seems to be in high spirits and he is likely to mow down the German, with a singles rating of 19(-1), in straight sets.

The match will be played on 26 March at 02:30 GMT.

Williams, Clijsters make triumphant returns

Former world number ones Venus Williams and Kim Clijsters made triumphant returns to the WTA after long layoffs with victories on Wednesday at the WTA and ATP Miami hardcourt tournament.

Seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams, who has not played a WTA event since pulling out of last year's US Open, defeated Japan's Kimiko Date-Krumm 6-0, 6-3 in 77 minutes. Williams announced at last year's US Open she had been diagnosed with the auto-immune disorder Sjogren Syndrome. The illness saps her energy and causes pain in her joints.

Clijsters, playing for the first time since her Australian Open semi-final loss to Victoria Azarenka, rallied to eliminate Australia's Jarmila Gajdosova 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. Clijsters, who won at Miami in 2005 and 2010, skipped last week's Indian Wells tournament to rest her injured ankle.
