New Zealand - West Indies: Second T20I | Watch Free Live Streaming - 15 January 2014

Having won the first T20I, the hosts New Zealand cricket team take on the West Indians in the second T20I a series win 2-0 edge over the West Indians at Westpac Stadium, Wellington Wednesday morning today.

In the meanwhile West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo is expecting his team to deliver under pressure as they try to level the two-match T20I.

West Indies are without Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels, Kieron Pollard and Darren Sammy - that means a lot of batting is missing. But they have a bowling potential which if used intelligently can bring them at power with the New Zealand. For example, A heavy defeat in Auckland might cause them to reconsider playing three spinners.

So let us see if the West Indians can win the second T20I or succumb to the mounting pressure.

The probable opposing teams for the second T20I will be as under:
New Zealand squad
BB McCullum*, Corey J Anderson, MJ Guptill, MJ McClenaghan, NL McCullum, AF Milne, C Munro, JDS Neesham, L Ronchi†, JD Ryder, TG Southee, LRPL Taylor

West Indies squad
DJ Bravo*, S Badree, TL Best, J Charles†, N Deonarine, ADS Fletcher†, JO Holder, NO Miller, SP Narine, KOA Powell, D Ramdin†, AD Russell, LMP Simmons, CAK Walton†

Umpires GAV Baxter and CB Gaffaney

New Zealand vs West Indies: 1st Test Match | Watch Free Live Streaming - 3-7 December 2013

New Zealand hosts West Indies to play their first test match, starting 3 December till 7th December at University Oval, Dunedin.

The last time New Zealand were involved in their home tour, they narrowly missed out on taking the series against formidable England. This time around, however, the Kiwis will start as the favourites against a West Indies side still trying to sort out the difference between playing in the limited-overs to the Tests.

Right from outset, Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the opening Test. Kane has a thumb injury, suffered in the series in Bangladesh.

It means that Redmond will add to his seven Test caps, the previous of which came against Australia at Adelaide in 2008.

In the opposite camp, Chris Gayle is missing, giving Kirk Edwards a chance to impress at the top along with Kieran Powell, who played a couple of decent innings in India.

As for the weather, it is predicted to be mild and partly cloudy conditions for the bulk of the match, with rain unlikely to cause interruptions until the final day on Saturday.

Squads:
New Zealand: BB McCullum*, Corey J Anderson, TA Boult, DAJ Bracewell, PG Fulton, AJ Redmond, HD Rutherford, IS Sodhi, TG Southee, LRPL Taylor, N Wagner, BJ Watling†, KS Williamson

West Indies: DJG Sammy*, D Ramdin†, TL Best, KC Brathwaite, DM Bravo, S Chanderpaul, SS Cottrell, N Deonarine, KA Edwards, ST Gabriel, SP Narine, V Permaul, KOA Powell, MN Samuels, S Shillingford, CAK Walton†

Umpires NJ Llong and PR Reiffel

Who leads and dominates? Well, Traditionally, teams have struggled with the bat in the first innings on rather green wickets, before the pitch flattens out on the third and fourth days to provide a better batting surface.

So let us watch the first test which is scheduled From 3-7 December 2013 at University Oval, Dunedin at 10:30 local time (21:30 GMT)

Mexico beat New Zealand 5-1 to close on to World Cup Finals

Mexico took a big step towards the World Cup finals with a 5-1 win over New Zealand in the first leg of their qualifying play-off.

The Mexicans Oribe Peralta scored twice, with Paul Aguilar, Raul Jimenez and Rafael Marquez also on target for Miguel Herrera's team.

From the opposing camp, it was Chris James who grabbed a late consolation goal for the Oceania champions at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.

The return leg will be held in Wellington next Wednesday.

It may be added that New Zealand qualified for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa after a play-off victory against Bahrain but Ricki Herbert's team now face an uphill task to repeat that feat.

Enghland vs New Zealand: 1st T20I | Watch Live Free Streaming - 25 June

After its defeat at the hands of India in the ICC Champions Trophy, England starts its T20I matches against visiting New Zealand at Oval Tuesday today.

Although, New Zealand won the ODIs against England 2-1, it too but faltered in the Champions Trophy group stage, albeit that the weather played a big role in two of their games. But New Zealand have the top two T20 batsmen in the world - Martin Guptill and Brendon McCullum - according to the current rankings - who can upset the already demoralized hosts.

England have won seven out of nine T20s against New Zealand. The only previous T20 international played between them in England was a nine-wicket home victory at Old Trafford in 2008.

The likely opposing squads are as under:

England beat New Zealand to qualify for ICC CHampions Trophy Semis

England beat New Zealand by a tense 10-run win at Cardiff to qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy semis.

A target of 170 in a game delayed by five hours and reduced to 24 overs per side appeared well within the Kiwis' reach after England lost their last seven wickets for 28 runs.

But the hosts bowled splendidly, especially with the new ball, to restrict New Zealand to 159-8 despite Kane Williamson's valiant 67 off 54 balls.

A large portion of the credit for England's safe passage must go to Anderson, who claimed two key early wickets and finished with 3-32, while Ravi Bopara - their fifth bowler - numbered the dangerous Brendon McCullum in his haul of 2-26.

Should Sri Lanka beat Australia on Monday, England will qualify as runners-up and meet India in the last four at Cardiff on Thursday.

Australia vs New Zealand: ICC Champions Trophy - 7th Match | Watch Live Free Streaming - 12 June

Australia plays the 7th ODI of the ICC Champions Trophy against New Zealand of Group B at Edgbaston, Birmingham Wednesday morning today.

Australia will again be without their captain Michael Clarke for Wednesday's Champions Trophy match against New Zealand as he continues to battle an ongoing back problem.

A loss in their opening match against England has left the Australians vulnerable and should they lose to New Zealand, they would not only have to beat Sri Lanka next Monday but they would also need England to lose their remaining two matches to have any hope of scraping through to the semi-finals.

The likely opposing teams for the match are:
Australia squad
MJ Clarke*, GJ Bailey, NM Coulter-Nile, XJ Doherty, JP Faulkner, PJ Hughes, MG Johnson, CJ McKay, MR Marsh, GJ Maxwell, MA Starc, AC Voges, MS Wade†, DA Warner, SR Watson

New Zealand squad
BB McCullum*, DAJ Bracewell, IG Butler, GD Elliott, JEC Franklin, MJ Guptill, MJ McClenaghan, NL McCullum, KD Mills, C Munro, L Ronchi†, TG Southee, LRPL Taylor, DL Vettori, KS Williamson

Umpires HDPK Dharmasena and NJ Llong

Date/References via cricinfo

Both matches at Edgbaston so far have been won with relative comfort by the team batting first, for scoring appears to become tougher as the matches wear on. There is some rain expected around the Birmingham region on Wednesday and the forecast is for a high of 17°C.

The match is scheduled on Wednesday, 12 June (09:30 GMT) | at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka: ICC Champions Trophy | Watch Live Free Streaming - 9 June

The 4th ODI of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy is being played between New Zealand and Sri Lanka from Group A at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff Sunday morning today.

New Zealand with a sky high morale after a 2-1 series win over England, New Zealand would look to carry their good form into the Champions Trophy when they clash with Sri Lanka in a Group A match today.

But the Sri Lanka are no less charged either. They have an overwhelming record of winning 10 of their last 11 ODI matches and six in a row against the Kiwis.

However, the Kiwis are also perhaps the best acclimatised side after hosts England having spent some good amount of time here. They know the conditions well which will help them sort out their team combination quickly.

Although Sri Lanka have a plethora of good bowlers, specially spinners, however like Pakistan their big worry is their batting. Neither the top-order nor the middle order batsmen are in good form. Mahela Jaywardene and Kumar Sangakkara never looked in good touch during the recent IPL. Therefore, it is more likely that Sri Lanka will be relying on their spinners to dismantle as many Kiwi batsmen as early as possible to compensate for their humble batting line.

The likely opposing teams for the match are:
New Zealand squad
BB McCullum*, DAJ Bracewell, IG Butler, GD Elliott, JEC Franklin, MJ Guptill, MJ McClenaghan, NL McCullum, KD Mills, C Munro, L Ronchi†, TG Southee, LRPL Taylor, DL Vettori, KS Williamson

Sri Lanka squad
AD Mathews*, LD Chandimal, LHD Dilhara, TM Dilshan, RMS Eranga, HMRKB Herath, DPMD Jayawardene, KMDN Kulasekara, SL Malinga, BMAJ Mendis, MDKJ Perera, NLTC Perera, KC Sangakkara†, SMSM Senanayake, HDRL Thirimanne

Umpires BNJ Oxenford and RJ Tucker

The 4th ODI is scheduled on Sunday, 9 June (09:30 GMT) | at  Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

England beat Kiwis in last ODI - but lose one-day international series 1-2

England finally beat New Zealand in the 3-ODI series' last match by 34 runs at Trent Bridge Wednesday, yesterday.

However, England lost the 3-ODI series by 1-2 to the Kiwis.

Ian Bell made 82 but the innings was revitalised by Jos Buttler, who hit three sixes in 47 not out off 16 balls. Buttler shared 62 in 24 balls with Eoin Morgan (49) as England posted 287-6, scoring 76 runs in the last four overs.

James Tredwell (3-51) dislodged Martin Guptill (38), who made unbeaten tons in the first two games, and the Kiwis were 253 all out despite Ross Taylor's 71.

The win yesterday should be a good omen for the England ahead of the ICC Champions trophy that begins Thursday today with its first match between India and South Africa at Cardiff.

England suffer ODI cricket series defeat against New Zealand

England slumped to a one-day series defeat by New Zealand as Martin Guptill's second successive century condemned the hosts to a 86-run loss.

Guptill, 26, hit an unbeaten 189 - the joint-fifth best one-day international score as New Zealand finished on 359-3 - their highest total against England.

Jonathan Trott top-scored with 109 not out but England batted poorly and were dismissed for 273 in the 45th over.

Having lost by five wickets in the first international at Lord's, the manner of this defeat will be of concern to captain Alastair Cook ahead of their opening Champions Trophy match against Australia on Saturday.

ITF admits Pakistan’s Davis Cup appeal

Pakistan tennis ace Aisamul Haq’s efforts of presenting Pakistan’s case regarding the recent Davis Cup tie yielded a positive outcome as the International Tennis Federation (ITF) agreed to consider the country’s appeal.

The development came after Aisam gave a detailed one-and-a-half hour presentation to the Davis Cup officials in London.

Pakistan hosted their Asia/Oceania Group II tie in Yangon, Myanmar after New Zealand refused to visit Pakistan due to security concerns.

However, the match could not be completed as Sri Lanka referee Ashita Ajigala declared New Zealand the winner, pronouncing the court’s surface ‘unplayable’. As per the ITF rules, such observations can result in decisions against the host nation. Pakistan were leading 1-0 before the referee’s verdict.

Watch Live a likely series whitewash: 3rd ODI between South Africa-New Zealand: Free Streaming | 25 January

The touring New Zealand cricket team comes face to face with their hosts in the third ODI that begins Friday today at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom.

Having won the two earlier ODIs, it will be rare opportunity for the visitors to whitewash the series  right there on the soil of their hosts.

When the Visitors lost the test series, everyone was skeptic about their performance in the ODIs - but the ODIs have shown a different and resilient face of the New Zealanders who have completely takena u-turn from their test series performance and have dominated the South Africans.

The last time New Zealand won a three-match series 3-0 against a major team was in 2006-07, when they beat Australia at home. However, South Africa have never lost all the matches of a three-match series at home and it is expected that are going to come back into the game and avert a whitewash humiliation.

The possible oppsoing squads for the 1st ODI:
South Africa:
F du Plessis*, F Behardien, Q de Kock†, D Elgar, CA Ingram, RK Kleinveldt, R McLaren, DA Miller, M Morkel, RJ Peterson, AM Phangiso, GC Smith, DW Steyn, LL Tsotsobe

New Zealand:
BB McCullum*, TA Boult, GD Elliott, JEC Franklin, MJ Guptill, RM Hira, MJ McClenaghan, NL McCullum, KD Mills, C Munro, JDS Neesham, RJ Nicol, N Wagner, BJ Watling†, KS Williamson

Umpires Enamul Haque and AT Holdstock

The Test match is scheduled on Tuesday, 22 January at 14:30 local time (12:30 GMT) at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom.

The possible oppsoing squads for the 1st ODI:
South Africa:
F du Plessis*, HM Amla, F Behardien, Q de Kock†, CA Ingram, RK Kleinveldt, R McLaren, DA Miller, M Morkel, RJ Peterson, AM Phangiso, GC Smith, DW Steyn, LL Tsotsobe

Watch Live 2nd Test between South Africa-New Zealand: Free Streaming | 11-15 January

The touring New Zealand cricket team faces the hosts South Africa in the second test that begins Friday morning today and will continue for five days till 15th January at St George's Park, Port Elizabeth.

I came at some interesting facts about Port Elizabeth at ESPN cricinfo and thought of sharing here:
This will be the 24th Test played at St George's Park but the first since December 2007 when West Indies won by 128 runs.
South Africa have lost their last three Tests on the ground. Their last victory came in 2000 with a seven wicket win over New Zealand.
That was one of three Tests New Zealand have played at St George's, they also lost on their first visit in 1950 but won by 40 runs in 1962.
The possible opposing squads for the 1st ODI:
South Africa
GC Smith*, HM Amla, AB de Villiers†, F du Plessis, D Elgar, JH Kallis, RK Kleinveldt, R McLaren, M Morkel, AN Petersen, RJ Peterson, VD Philander, JA Rudolph, DW Steyn

New Zealand
BB McCullum*, TA Boult, DAJ Bracewell, DG Brownlie, DR Flynn, JEC Franklin, MJ Guptill, MJ McClenaghan, BP Martin, CS Martin, C Munro, JS Patel, N Wagner, BJ Watling†, KS Williamson

The pitch in Port Elizabeth should be slow and low as usual. No rain is forecast, but serious winds, and if it's the South Easter, it will come off the sea and will increase moisture around the ground. That's expected on the second day.

So both teams are going to relive in their memories when they meet today Port Elizabeth. Would it be possible for the hosts to win or would the visitors prevail?

The Test match is scheduled from Friday, 11 January to 15th January daily at 10:30 local time (08:30 GMT) at St George's Park, Port Elizabeth.

South Africa vs New Zealand: Watch Live Free Streaming | 1st Test Match 2-6 January 2013

The fist test match of the 'year' between South Africa and New Zealand begins at Newlands, Cape Town from Wednesday 2nd January 2013 and will continue for five days till 6th of January.

In 2012, New Zealand traveled widely and played lot of cricket against the West Indies, India, Sri Lanka and the present tour in South Africa. But the long tours have not yielded results so expected by them.

Now they start the new year with their first test against the hosts at Cape Town but it far too early to say how they would fare in this match.

The likely opposing squads for Friday's T20I match are:
South Africa squad
GC Smith*, HM Amla, AB de Villiers†, F du Plessis, D Elgar, JH Kallis, RK Kleinveldt, M Morkel, AN Petersen, RJ Peterson, VD Philander, JA Rudolph, DW Steyn

New Zealand squad
BB McCullum*, TA Boult, DAJ Bracewell, DG Brownlie, DR Flynn, JEC Franklin, MJ Guptill, MJ McClenaghan, BP Martin, CS Martin, C Munro, JS Patel, N Wagner, BJ Watling†, KS Williamson

Umpires IJ Gould and RJ Tucker

The 2nd T20I is scheduled from Wednesday 2nd January 2013 and will continue for five days till 6th of January daily at 10:30 local time (08:30 GMT) at Newlands, Cape Town.

South Africa vs New Zealand: Watch Live Free Streaming | 2nd T20I - 23 December

The second T20I between the visiting New Zealand cricket team and the hosts South Africa is being played Sunday afternoon at Buffalo Park, East London.

The first T20I was won by the hosts South Africa with 47 balls still remaining to chase just 87 runs. Naturally losing this kind of match would have been a disaster for the hosts, specially the South Africa captain-coach duo of Faf du Plessis and Russell Domingo.

Now it is up to the visitors to decide how they would like to be treated by the hosts Sunday afternoon today - a repetition or a revenge?

The opposing squads for the day are as under:
South Africa

South Africa v New Zealand: Watch Live Free Streaming | 1st T20I - 21 December

Playing cricket almost on the verge of Christmas seems strange since all players would be wanting to be there with their families rather than playing cricket thousands of miles away.

But this the beauty of the sport that it goes on despite seasons holidays and celebrations. And this T20I will certainly add festivities to the coming holiday season.

The visiting New Zealand team plays its firt T20I at Kingsmead, Durban - the third largets city of Siuth Africa after  Johannesburg and Cape Town.

What is special for the day is that Henry Davids, 32, is on the verge of fulfilling his father's dream for him to play for South Africa. When he was born, his father Henry Davids Snr was playing cricket in the small town of Pniel. Perhaps this makes him a cricketer too.

As for the visitors, stand-in captain Faf du Plessis has only just established himself as a regular member of the playing XI while none of the top-order, middle-order or bowling combinations are settled. This is all to New Zealand's advantage and they will want to shock South Africa as the hosts look to build for the future, observes cricinfo.

The opposing squads for the day are as under:
South Africa
F du Plessis*, F Behardien, H Davids, Q de Kock†, RK Kleinveldt, RE Levi, R McLaren, DA Miller, M Morkel, CH Morris, JL Ontong, RJ Peterson, AM Phangiso, DW Steyn, LL Tsotsobe
