Pakistan vs Zimbabwe: 2nd Test Match | Watch Free Live Streaming - 10-14 September

Top: Pakistan team return happy after winning first test - below: Saeed Ajmal rejoices a wicket (left) - Younis Khan plays century strokes (right) - Photos(Cricinfo)

Pakistan and Zimbabwe face each other for a decisive 2nd Test Match commencing Tuesday today, 10th September till 14 September at Harare Sports Club cricket grounds.

The first test was a disaster for Zimbabwe as they lost fifteen wickets to Saeed Ajmal and Abdur Rehman. For the hosts, this was too much - facing high-quality spinners. And it is the same venue and same spinners that the hosts will again be facing from today on.

Pakistan's Younis Khan who scored an impressive century in the first test is 48 short of becoming the fourth Pakistan batsman to reach 7000 Test runs, after Javed Miandad, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Yousuf. This test certainly provide him that window of opportunity to realise the 7000 mark.

The likely opposing squads are as under for today's match:
Zimbabwe:
BRM Taylor*†, H Masakadza, RW Chakabva, TL Chatara, E Chigumbura, SW Masakadza, TMK Mawoyo, N Mushangwe, R Mutumbami†, T Panyangara, V Sibanda, Sikandar Raza, P Utseya, BV Vitori, MN Waller

Pakistan:
Misbah-ul-Haq*, Abdur Rehman, Adnan Akmal†, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Ehsan Adil, Faisal Iqbal, Junaid Khan, Khurram Manzoor, Mohammad Hafeez, Rahat Ali, Saeed Ajmal, Shan Masood, Wahab Riaz, Younis Khan

Umpires SJ Davis and REJ Martinesz

The match is scheduled to begin from 10-14 September daily at 10:00 local time (08:00 GMT) at Harare Sports Club.

South Africa resumes third day of 2nd Test at 139/5

After winning the first test against the visiting Pakistan cricket team, the South Africans asked the visitors to open the second test despite winning the toss at Cape Town.

Though Pakistan had a similar debacle of fast dismissals, Younis Khan and Asad's 111 each gave Pakistan a good total of 338 despite Philander's superb bowling of 5/59 with ten maiden overs.

But when the hosts came to play, they were equally shocked when Pakistan's Saeed Ajmal struck with five dismissals on the second day for 41 with 8 maiden overs.

None of the openers could stand in front of Saeed Ajmal as he dismissed one after the other with no one crossing 30s

Trailing by 199 runs, South Africa begin the third day of the play with Villiers (24) and Elgar(11) on the crease at 08:30 GMT / 10:30 local time / 13:30 Pakistan standard time.

Howzat!! South Africa cripples Pakistan for 49 in their first innings

When Pakistan sent back the entire South African team for 'mere'253 runs on the Day-1 of the first test match at Johannesburg's Wanderers stadium, many hailed Pakistan's bowlers superb performance, specially Hafeez who bagged four wickets for just 16 runs including one maiden over.

But they did not know what was coming for Pakistan.

Although Pakistan started their first innings on the first day and were 6 for no loss, the Day-2 was not only costlier, it was the deadliest of all previous days of Pakistan cricket history.

On Day-2, Pakistan had lost three wickets that of Hafeez, Jamshed and Younis for 12. Then it looked Pakistan had stabilized till the score reached 36 when Azhar went back to pavilion. And then there was no ending as the entire team was sent packing back to pavilion for just 49 runs - Pakistan's lowest ever total of an innings.

DW Steyn bagged six wickets for just 8 runs with SIX maiden overs of the total 8.1 overs he bowled.

Pakistan's earlier lowest score was 59 against Australia in 2002-2003 at Sharjah - Australia won by an innings and 198 runs.

Pakistan now assumes a position between Australia's 47 runs (scored in the second innings against South Africa at Newlands 2011-2012) and Zimbabwe's 51 (scored in their first innings against New Zealand in 2011-2012).

It may be added here for information that South Africa ranks second in the lowest score of 30 after 26 of New Zealand.

England's bowlers silenced by 259-run Amla duet

England were already sick of the sight of Graeme Smith well before the start of this Investec Test series to decide the No 1 ranking team in world cricket.

At the Kia Oval, the South Africa skipper’s seventh hundred against them in 19 Tests earned him the status of their recurring nightmare.

When England supporters resort to the Mexican wave to keep themselves amused, you know their side is having a frustrating day.

By the close, with South Africa 403-2 in reply to England’s 385, so firmly in command were Smith’s record-sharing partner Hashim Amla (183) and Jacques Kallis (82) that the remains of a full house had long since been reduced to polite and respectful applause.

Pakistan - Sri Lanka: 3rd Test | Day -1 Review

Pakistan is currently playing its thrid test match against hosts Sri Lanka at  Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. The match is scheduled for 8-12 July 2012.

Sri Lanka, which has a 1-0 edge over Pakista, the second test having been washed away in rain despite Pakistan's brilliant batting, elected to field after winning the toss on 8 July.

And it was disheartening to see Pakistan's top order line crumbling for just 56/4, with two ace batsmen azhar Ali and Younis Khan sent back to pavillion for nothing. It was captain Misbah and Asad who stayed on crease for 40 and 75 respectively to regain hold over the match.

However, the visitors were all out for paltry 226, with Perera emerging as the top wicket taker for the Islanders, who sent back four visitors for 63, with five maidens. Herath took three and  Kulasekara took tow wickets.

Coming to bat, the Lankans did not fare well either as by stumps thye had scored 44 with three of their bartsmen sent back.
Sangakkara, recently elevated to top position in the batting ranking replacing Chanderpaul was out for zero by Junaid Khan. Chandimal was alos LBW by Junaid for 8 and Jayawardene was LBW by Sami.

The Day-2 commences 4:30 GMT today with opener NT Paranavitana still on crease since yesterday at 13.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka: 3rd Cricket Test - Watch Free Live Online | 8-12 July 2012

After losing the first test and losing a winning test to the rain, visiting Pakistan cricket team plays its third test against hosts Sri Lanka at  Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Although the third test gets into play Sunday, there are still fears of a coming rain and a disturbed test match. However the recent rain has added greenish tinge on the pitch, which is likely to assist bounce and movement.

While the hosts are in comfortable 1-0 win position, the visitors must win the test. Pakistan has not lost a series since Misbah took command of the unpredictable Pakistan cricket team, even himself too, and it would be demoralising losing to the Islanders this third test.

The opposing squads are as under:
Sri Lanka: DPMD Jayawardene*, AD Mathews, LD Chandimal, TM Dilshan, N Pradeep, CRD Fernando, HMRKB Herath, HAPW Jayawardene†, S Randiv, KMDN Kulasekara, BMAJ Mendis, NT Paranavitana, NLTC Perera, TT Samaraweera, KC Sangakkara

Pakistan: Misbah-ul-Haq*, Abdur Rehman, Adnan Akmal†, Afaq Raheem, Aizaz Cheema, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Faisal Iqbal, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Ayub, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Sami, Saeed Ajmal, Taufeeq Umar, Umar Gul, Younis Khan

The test match is scheduled from 8-12 July daily at 04:30 GMT at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Rain in Colombo frustrate Pakistan's hopes to equalize

After a miserable first test match loss by 209 runs with a day to spare, the visiting Pakistan cricket team rebounded on the first and second day of the second test at Colombo to much surprise to the hosts Sri Lanka and fans too.

The superb 4 runs less double century by Muhammad Hafeez, his career best, and Azhar Ali's 157 ensured a strong case of winning the second test and equalizing the 1-1 the wo tests.

But then came rains - and came they heavily to whitewash hopes of the visitors to avenge the first test defeat.

Pakistan declared their first innings on an imposing 551-6 and claimed an early wicket as Sri Lanka went to lunch on 70-1.

But then rain stopped any further play after lunch.

We wait if clouds give way for play and Pakistan's hard work comes to their benefit. So far it looks it is for the benefit of the hosts as they are looking for a test series win against Pakistan.

Sri Lnka destroys Pakistan's top order 5/48 at Galle Test

After a miserable performance in the ODIs, losing 1-4 to the hosts, Pakistan captain Hafeez, in place of Misbah, vowed to play better in the test matches. But that seemed a far cry.

On the first day, Sri Lanka electing to bat made 300/2 and then on the second day took the total to 472 (their highest total against Pakistan in Sri Lanka).  Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara became the quickest batsman to reach 2000 Test runs against a single team and also became only the second player in Test history to be stranded on 199. Although Saeed Ajmal took five for 146, this could not help his team when they came to bat.

But that wasn't enough. Their bowlers destroyed and broke the top order line of Pakistan and took five wickets for mere 48 runs.

One can foresee the fate of visitors in the remaining days of the first Test match at Galle, Sri Lanka.

Test cricket record for No.11 batsman

Tino Best's astounding 95, the highest ever score by a Test No 11, rocked England at Edgbaston here on Sunday.

England, at stumps on the fourth day of the third Test, were 221 for five -- a deficit of 205 runs and still needing a further 56 to avoid the follow-on -- with Ian Bell 76 not out.

A West Indies' 10th-wicket Test record stand of 143 -- the third highest in all Tests for the last wicket -- of 143 between wicket-keeper Denesh Ramdin, who made 107 not out, and Best took the tourists to 426 all out.

Watch Live England vs West Indies: Third Test - Edgbaston, Jun 7-11, 2012

When the England meets West Indies at Edgbaston Thursday for their third test (June 7-11), they may be faced with the same dilemma of spinners as against Pakistan's Saeed Ajmal in their last face off in UAE earlier this year. This time it is 24 years old Narine, who has flown in on Sunday from Trinidad. Although he has yet to play in test cricket, but his excellent performance of 11 wickets in the five ODIs series against Australia earlier this year which worries the Englishmen.

England has therefore making changes - something like a grand plan by leaving out Anderson, and possibly Broad too.

England is aiming at a clean sweep out of this dead test while West Indies with the inclusion of Narine could hope of some face saving, if the 'magical spinner' can spellbound the hosts' batsmen. Let us watch and see if only one spinner can make their difference in his very first test debut or not.

The probable opposing squad for the third test between England and West Indies are as under:

England: AJ Strauss*, JM Bairstow, IR Bell, TT Bresnan, SCJ Broad, AN Cook, ST Finn, G Onions, KP Pietersen, MJ Prior†, GP Swann, IJL Trott

West Indies: DJG Sammy*, KA Edwards, AB Barath, TL Best, DM Bravo, S Chanderpaul, N Deonarine, FH Edwards, AB Fudadin, SP Narine, KOA Powell, D Ramdin†, R Rampaul, MN Samuels, S Shillingford

Chanderpaul inspires West Indies

The West Indies took inspiration from another defiant innings by Shivnarine Chanderpaul to set up the chance of an unlikely victory in the first test against England at Lord's on Sunday.
The talismanic left-hander made 91 and Marlon Samuels hit 86 to lift the touring side to a second-innings total of 345 and England, needing 191 to win, lost captain Andrew Strauss as they stumbled to 10 for two in the evening gloom on the fourth day.
Chanderpaul was lbw to off-spinner Graeme Swann shortly before tea, ending a knock lasting 383 minutes in which the limpet-like left-hander was at his tenacious best.
“He is unique in the way he plays and he's number one in the world so it's always nice to get him out,” Swann told a news conference. “He batted superbly but we stuck to our guns.

England v West Indies: Andrew Strauss finds form with century

A first Test century in 18 months from captain Andrew Strauss put England in a dominant position on day two of the first Test against a toothless West Indies at Lord's.
Strauss ended the day unbeaten on 121 as England reached 259-3, a lead of 16 runs, with Ian Bell alongside him on five. Stuart Broad had wrapped up the West Indies innings with the first ball of the day to record Test-best figures of 7-72.
The skipper started the week fielding questions about his form and place in the side, and he provided the best riposte of all - batting for all but one ball of the day for his first hundred in 26 Test innings.

West Indies vs England: Watch Live First Test (2nd Day)

The first day of the First Test between the visiting West Indies cricket team against host England Thursday at Lord's was perhaps a disaster for the visitors. Having won the toss, the hosts elected to field and put the visitors to bat and the decision to field spoke for itself.

At stumps on Day-1, the West Indies were almost finished and were at 243 with none of their players back into the pavillion.

Had it not been for Chanderpaul's resilience and maginfiecnt 87, the Windies would have been fielding right on the first day of the five days test match.

SCJ Broad was the most deadly of the English bowlers, who bagged six wickets for 72 with six maiden overs. JM Anderson took two.

Friday, the Day-2 is not likely to add much to the Windies first day total and bring the hosts to bat. Would the Windies able to contain the English the same way the hosts did Thursday?

Let us watch the match today, that commences 10:00 GMT
